Inquiry about use case
Dear Customer Service,
My name is Tamamura and I am in charge of Audio-Technica.
I want to be able to play FLAC using the API that BT IC has.

In this case, Do I need to get permission from you?
Best regards

Strange things happening at SourceForge
Ars Technica reports of ?abandoned projects? on SourceForge being taken over by SourceForge with adware installers added to executables.
arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/05/sourceforge-grabs-gimp-for-windows-account-wraps-installer-in-bundle-pushing-adware/
This might be something to be wary of with FLAC considering the main focus for FLAC has moved from SourceForge to Xiph.org.

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently using the latest build of R and R-Studio server (both are
amazing products)
I'm still very new to this but I came across this issue:
I'm trying to do a select from postgres and put the data into and xts
object like so:
# Libs
library('RPostgreSQL') # http://code.google.com/p/rpostgresql/
library('quantmod')
library('TTR')

OT: good headphones?
This is off-topic, mostly, but I figure you guys will have some knowledge in
this sound-quality-related area.
I'm sitting here looking at the most recent "Musician's Friend" at headphones
and thinking about getting a pair. They've got products from AKG, Fostex,
Audio Technica, Nady, Sennheiser, and Sony, at price points ranging from $16
to $130 (list prices $20 to

Slightly off-topic: question about DOS batch files
Jack, thanks for your quick reply about my Comment question.
This next question is slightly off-topic, but it pertains to encoding a directory of WAV files into Oggs.
Right now I have 14 WAVs that I ripped from a CD... I made a [huge] batch file which specifies the name and track number of each WAV. Unfortunately, I have to have the entire batch file on a single line, since it's a

The ppc32 distro will work on any NewWorld G3, G4 based machine ( and
32bit ibm power, like the older rs6k's ) - it _also_ works fine on the
MacMini and G4 Xserve's.
With some common sense tweaks, a G4 450Mhz is a very

update or alter cart
I want to modify and update the items in the Depot - "display_cart".
Since the cart is in a session, its a little hard to get at the data.
I just want to create a way to change quantities, prices and
recalculate.
Has someone done this, and could you point me to the right direction.
Thanks
Chas

Wireless Mic System

Sennheiser is a reputable brand. The model you cited is in their lowest cost series. I have sold a number of these systems over the years. Their first generation (not G2) were problematic in not being very durable. I don't have as much experience with the G2, but the few we have sold have worked fine for several years.

This works: low bitrate encoding
Hey everyone,
Here's one way to get .ogg files down to about
~20kbps, and it's not too hard:
1. Use sox to resample the files down to 11025khz
mono.
2. Feed these to OGGLAME (Lame 3.84 Alpha 1 is what I
had laying around on my hard drive).
OGGENC demands that the files be 44.1khz, but this
version of ogglame didn't seem to care what
the sample rate was.
I'm sure the quality

Ogg encoding longer than 203 minutes?
Hi,
I'm trying to record something for about 24 hours but oggenc tells me that I have 203m remaining.

oggenc and Encoding with VBR
Apologies if this is know. But I've spent most of today Googling for a way
to get this working, and to me, something is wrong here. But it might well
be me. Anyway...
I've been trying to record direct from the soundcard into an ogg file.
I came up with
rawrec -t 10 | oggenc -r -Q -q 5 - > foo.ogg
which partially works. ogg123 will play it, but ogginfo reports

Realtime resampling/encoding with oggenc
Don't know if anybody is still missing the lame oggenc features for
resampling, lowpass/highpass filters etc, but I wrote a little script that
uses sox to do all the stuff I need to real-time encode oggenc from the
radio, or any input device.
#!/bin/bash
DATE=`date '+%m-%d-%Y-(%H.%M)'`
DESTIN=/video/music/perftoday
export DATE=$DATE'-PerformanceToday.ogg'

RC3 Tagging/Encoding and Winamp answer
First of all, I'm using WinXP and love vorbis! :-)
Since I just joined the mailing list, I figured I would answer the Winamp
question. Winamp has different EQ algorithms - they have a "fast layer 2/3
EQ" option for mp3s, and they have a PCM EQ for all other formats (wma, ogg,
etc.). While the mp3 EQ sounds ok, the PCM EQ (which gets applied to ogg
files) is absolutely horrible. I
