Problems compiling Mac Libs
Hey guys,
I just downloaded the latest beta 4 libraries and compiled using the
included Mac project files on Codewarrior 5.3. Everything compiled clean
except for a link error (multiple definition) on the vorbislib itself. I
suppressed the error, and got my newly compiled lib.
I then built the sample encoder and included the libs. I tried to encode a
file and BOOM! Frozen Mac!
So then I

it helps.

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component
Hi all,
I don't know if this is the place to ask about this, but I'm going to
try anyway. There is an ogg-vorbis plugin for iTunes on Mac OS X that
is downloadable from

or

Unfortunately, this plug-in (a Quicktime component) crashes iTunes for

Compiling the Xiph QuickTime component project in Xcode 3.2
Hello,
I've sent this question to flac-dev not realizing that QT development
belongs in ogg-dev. As it pertains more to the QT component than to
the FLAC project itself, I thought I'd repeat the question here in
hopes of some kind of suggestions or pointers. I'm basically
attempting to compile the Xiph QuickTime component project, which
fails to build. Its dependencies compile fine,

Quicktime component icon
Hola;
This is kind of a silly question to be asking a dev list, I know, but my
googling found nothing. I was wondering where the base template for the
quicktime component icon could be found (the sideways lego-brick thing)?
I'd like to iconify a component of my own, and am having a devil of a time
tracking that down.
Any help would be appreciated... thanks.

Ogg Vorbis compatible with Darwin Streaming Server?
Hi,
I saw the documentation "RTP Payload Format for Vorbis Encoded Audio".
My question: The Darwin Streaming Server (OpenSource and free for
several plattforms) streams media with RTSP/RTP.
For more information:
http://www.publicsource.apple.com/projects/streaming/
I know that a QuickTime Component of Ogg Vorbis
(compressor/decompressor) in progress. (Thanks guys) Could I stream Ogg

Xiph QuickTime Components project announcement
Hi,
Just to let you know about the new Xiph QuickTime Components project.
It should be of interest to people wanting to use ogg/vorbis files
(and other Xiph formats, as well) in combination with QuickTime-based
applications (e.g. see: iTunes).
The project pages are at: http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/
The first OS-X(ppc) binary builds are out, as well.

Quicktime components and FLAC
Hi all,
OK, so I just bought myself a nice shiny new powerbook. Nice machine.
Very nice machine :-)
But, iTunes does not understand FLAC. My Digitised music collection
(entirely my own, ripped from my cd's, blah, blah, blah) is now mostly
in FLAC (as I slowly go through and convert it will all be in FLAC :-)
So, I have a problem. Or, if you want to look at it another way, I have
an itch. An

QuickTime for Linux and vorbisfile
I recently began working on an application which will combine
Ogg Vorbis with QuickTime on the Linux platform. I am using Ogg
Vorbis 1.0rc1 and Adam Williams' QuickTime for Linux 1.3 library
(http://www.heroinewarrior.com/quicktime.php3).
I am having a strange problem.
As soon as I #include <quicktime/quicktime.h>, the code causes a
segmentation fault when run. When I look at it with

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead?
Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X?

Re: Samba and NUL characters
Hi,
We have a Windows NT 4 SP5 sharing a read-only share of logs
that are constantly being written to and a Linux box running CentOS
release 4.2 (Final) that mounts this share. The share in mounted using
the following command:
smbmount //cdn-mtl-ms/Logs /mnt/logs -o
sockopt=SO_KEEPALIVE,username=user,password=pass,ro,uid=503,gid=503
smbmount -v shows --> Version 3.0.10-1.4E.2

Quicktime + FLAC?
I bought myself a PowerBook and hoped to play my FLAC-encoded library via
iTunes. Alas -- it doesn't work.
My understanding is that iTunes uses QuickTime for playback; does anyone
know where to find a FLAC codec for QuickTime?
I noticed that there was some discussion about this ~1 year ago on flac-dev.
Did any dev projects get underway, or should I roll up my sleeves and give
it a go?

Wine and iTunes6: Gets quicktime version wrong?
Hi all,
I've been trying to install iTunes with wine. I've followed Frank's
instructions...got them installed, but, when I run iTunes, it complains
that quicktime version required is 7.0.3 or later, and that I somehow
have 7.0.d0....
I've seen others out there having same problem, but, no resolutions.
Any suggestions or links?
I've tried on wine 0.9.10 and now emerging

Quicktime, Ogg, Vorbis
What does Steve Nicolai's Quicktime component do? Does it create
- an Ogg stream with Vorbis audio data inside it ?
- a Quicktime stream with an Ogg track with Vorbis audio inside ?
- a Quicktime stream with an audio track encoded with the Vorbis codec ?
(I wish it could do all the three options above)

XiphQT for Windows 0.1.5, iTunes 10.5.0.142, QuickTime 7.7.1, Windows Vista
SP2 Home Basic 32 bit.
It worked with iTunes 10.0.1.22 (QuickTime 7.6.8). But stopped after last

Quicktime + FLAC?
If i could find some good documentation on quicktime, i'd probably give it a
shot... since i already have most of the infrastructure already for
directshow.
I had a look a few times for detailed info on quicktime, and it all looked
pretty painful.
Not to mention all the base media handler code provided for the sdk, says
not suitable for bitrates greater than like 32kpbs which is useless

XiphQT and QuickTime X
I've just finished installing Apple's shiny new Mac OS X version 10.6
(aka "Snow Leopard.") One of the very first things I did was place
XiphQT 0.1.9 into /Library/Components. It appears that it doesn't work
with the new QuickTime X: The .ogg and .ogv files are grayed out in
the Open File dialog box and cannot be selected. Right-clicking on the
file, selecting Open With, and
