Incorrectly encoded (or decoded) tones
This wav produces a bit of audible static when encoded at the highest bitrate vorbis will allow me to encode at (30.7kbps avg.): http://staff.xmms.org/zinx/misc/5551234.wav.gz An encoded version, with the bitrate set to approximate 128kbps (I think it output to 29 some odd kbps): http://staff.xmms.org/zinx/misc/5551234.ogg This is with the latest CVS tree as of Sat May 12 10:06:17 UTC

Barcode or EAN code?
One my of my CDs has a bar code, 4 011222 044068, which is titled "EAN CODE". Another one simply has a barcode, 07822-18646-2, without any title. Should I assume that the barcode of any CD is the EAN code? I'm asking this because I want to know how to title the comment of the Vorbis file -- "EAN code" or "Barcode". Thanks. -------------- next part

two questions re vorbisfile API
Hey guys, currently wrapping my head around the vorbisfile API. The stream callback interface is really nice ! Great work. I'm running into two snags using it though. a) getting ov_bitrate on a seakable stream returns a long. When I print it as %ld, I get Bitstream is 2 channel, 44100 Hz, 0 version, -2147483648 bitrate I get this same number for any vorbis file. I checked them with

Cannot get ogm infos
Help is needed ! I cannot extract infos from video stream in an .ogm file using the VorbisFile library. It seems that I can only open .ogg files (audio)! When I call "ov_open_callbacks" it generates a message error. Here is my procedure in pascal: code: _____ procedure GetOGMInfo; var F : TFileStream; vf: OggVorbis_File; res: integer; begin F :=

more commits
Contained in tonight's last commit: Fixed a link-crossing bug in libvorbis (total time was reset to -1 at the link boundary until the next packet with a frame number arrived) Implemented instantaneous bitrate capability in libvorbis; added ov_bitrate_instant() to interface. I know I talked about a different interface to this with the Sonique folks a few months ago... I couldn't remember

vorbisfile question

How to distinguish ABR & VBR ogg files?
I want to display info about Ogg files to Windows users. The docs tell me how to distinguish CBR (nom=min=max bitrate), but how do I distinguish between ABR and VBR streams? When I created my Ogg files (with CDex) I set the 'quality'. Is there some way to read this from the Ogg file? Should I avoid calling the ov_bitrate function because it has to read through the whole stream?

file magic for Ogg, Vorbis?
I am trying to figure out file(1) magic(1) for Ogg and Vorbis. (I am using file from NetBSD 1.5.1.) Currently I have: 0 string OggS Ogg data >29 string vorbis \b, Vorbis audio Some results: $ file ~/audio/kaas.* /home/reed/audio/kaas.mp3: MP3, 128 kBits, 44.1 kHz, Stereo /home/reed/audio/kaas.ogg: Ogg data, Vorbis audio /home/reed/audio/kaas.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio,

Fake FQDN for puppetmaster (and ca) in faked environment?
Hi there, We have a fake environment in which we test software and config before rolling it out to prod. Here, we have a fake puppetmasterd running, serving the new config under test. But we''re having trouble with certificates. It is possible to specify via config what fqdn the puppet ca should use for itself? We need this to be a different (faked) fqdn than the real name of the

HTB: far unequal behaivor at a slight conf rate change
Hi all! I''m working in a " _really_ end user simple", yet powerfull, flexible, scalable, GPL htb/htb-init front end, but now, in the "test fase" im facing an utlimate problem... hardware raid vs fake raid
Hi, Does anyone know how I can find out if an ibm serveraid 8k sas storage controller (zero channel RAID) is a real hardware RAID controller and supported in the standard CentOs kernel or is it a fake raid controller. I am trying to decide if I should get the serveraid controller or go get a 3ware controller. Regards, -- Tom Diehl tdiehl at rogueind.com Spamtrap address mtd123 at

testing with fake facts
Hello Is it possible to make up your own facts with which to test your manifests? Actually, what I''m trying to do is create a system that will generate the correct set of configuration files for some applications running on Windows. I''m hoping that in time puppet will be ported to windows, but in the mean time I''d like the task of configurations being

Fake Directx hardware pixel shader
I have this same "problem" on windows. Team fortress 2 refuses to run "Engine Error Your graphics hardware must support at least pixel shader version 1.1 to run this game!" How to generate fake population (ie. not sample) data?
This seems like it should be obvious, but searches I've tried all come up with rnorm etc. Is there a way of generating normally-distributed 'population' data with known parameters? Cheers, CB.

Oplocks not taking place at all unless fake oplocks = yes - Update
I've modified the contention limit in attempt to troubleshoot this, thinking that perhaps the client may be requesting multiple oplocks for whatever reason. The client is still not getting an oplock without specifying 'fake oplocks = yes'. I'm open to any ideas for troubleshooting. I've also checked to see if oplocks are explicitly disabled on the client, and they are not.

WINEPS.DRV built-in: How to fake out bad applications...?
I've been unable to get a [badly written] commercial application to get past this app's insistence on finding WINEPS.DRV... it complains with "NO DEFAULT PRINTER SELECTED" -- days of searching, reading, trying every approach has me tearing my hair out. Worse, my knowledge of C is ancient (circa 1970)... Can anyone either suggest a patch or pointer to the best place to add code

Samba 3 fake-kaserver keytab
Hi, I've been trying to run samba-3.02a with the fakekaserver option and realised that it needs to have the afs keyfile in secrets.tdb. The function doing this resides in surces/passdb/secrets.c and is called secrets_store_afs_keyfile . How can I use it (and generaly speaking which program do I need to use to manipulate the tdb files) Jan Chorowski

--fake-super and xattr between Linux and Solaris 10
Hello trusty rsync list, I'm excited about --fake-super as it will replace too much work with none at all. I have gotten it to work under linux and I have a fair grasp with what is happening there. I have a problem, though, and that is, in the long term, I'll need to archive my Linux systems not to a Linux box, but to a Solaris 10 box. I understand that Solaris does have extended
