vorbis won't compile as a Framework
When I tried to compile the vorbis module as a Framework, using ProjectBuilder, I got 1058 warnings (excess elements in scalar initializer, near initialization for ''psy_set0.toneatt', 'vorbis_ftoi' defined but not used, unused variable 'k', braces around scalar initializer, and so on) and 65 errors. Some examples of errors: ------- vorbis/lib/psytune.c: undefined

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component
Hi all, I don't know if this is the place to ask about this, but I'm going to try anyway. There is an ogg-vorbis plugin for iTunes on Mac OS X that is downloadable from http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14259 or http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/13012&mode=feedback Unfortunately, this plug-in (a Quicktime component) crashes iTunes for the latest version of

Please help me convert Quicktime Movs into .ogg
Hi there, I'm Andy Jenkins. I work in broadcast video and have recently had a client ask for a programme supplied as a .ogg file. I am in no way a computer programmer, but am trying hard to find out more about creating ogg files. I have downloaded the ogg quicktime components and can certainly view and hear picture and audio, however I cannot successfully export an .ogg. I can however

QuickTime for Linux and vorbisfile
I recently began working on an application which will combine Ogg Vorbis with QuickTime on the Linux platform. I am using Ogg Vorbis 1.0rc1 and Adam Williams' QuickTime for Linux 1.3 library (http://www.heroinewarrior.com/quicktime.php3). I am having a strange problem. As soon as I #include <quicktime/quicktime.h>, the code causes a segmentation fault when run. When I look at it with

flac ogg quicktime iTunes
Hello, I'm going to start by asking something that has probably been asked before (although I didn't see it on the lists at sourceforge). Is anyone working on getting iTunes to work with flac? I'm bouncing around a few ideas and it seems like the logical approach would be to write a quicktime component using this project as a base http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net I see a

Ogg Vorbis compatible with Darwin Streaming Server?

Xiph QuickTime Components project announcement
Hi, Just to let you know about the new Xiph QuickTime Components project. It should be of interest to people wanting to use ogg/vorbis files (and other Xiph formats, as well) in combination with QuickTime-based applications (e.g. see: iTunes). The project pages are at: http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ The first OS-X(ppc) binary builds are out, as well. Regards, Arek

Quicktime Component
Good news all! I now have a functional version of the Quicktime Component of the Ogg Vorbis decompressor. In English: this extension will allow all Quicktime apps to play .oggs (including iTunes). I plan on posting it ASAP. I have a few problems with memory that I'd like to get cleared up first. I plan on carbonizing it as soon as it functions in classic. I'll also do a Winders version.

Quicktime + FLAC?
I bought myself a PowerBook and hoped to play my FLAC-encoded library via iTunes. Alas -- it doesn't work. My understanding is that iTunes uses QuickTime for playback; does anyone know where to find a FLAC codec for QuickTime? I noticed that there was some discussion about this ~1 year ago on flac-dev. Did any dev projects get underway, or should I roll up my sleeves and give it a go? -Dave

Quicktime + FLAC?
If i could find some good documentation on quicktime, i'd probably give it a shot... since i already have most of the infrastructure already for directshow. I had a look a few times for detailed info on quicktime, and it all looked pretty painful. Not to mention all the base media handler code provided for the sdk, says not suitable for bitrates greater than like 32kpbs which is useless

Quicktime 2 Theora Transcoder's Nano-Howto
After a bunch of cumbersome testing I was able to transcode a Quicktime MOV file to OGG with theora and Vorbis. The method's a bit fumbly, but it works... It is automatable except for the initial audio decoding. Software used: Xine, oggenc, ffmpeg, ffmpeg2theora, oggzmerge Step 1: Get the video out of Quicktime ffmpeg -i infile.mov -b 5000 -f mpeg2video outfile.mpg Step 2: Get the video
