Device Control
Hello Folks,
I remember reading sometime ago here about placing alongside the audio stream other information, such as DMX lighting controls (ave a wee look-see here http://llg.cubic.org/dmx4linux/ ). I now have some gear i can get my hands on to play with and was wondering if anyone else is/has been working on anything similar. The emphasis here is on public exhibition displays, where one could

New Media Codec: Audio, Video & Atmosphere Lighting help
Hi, im creating a new project, it's disco/stage lighting vst:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71817
Now i wish to create a new media codec: AVA Codec, Audio, Video & Atmosphere
Lighting ( (c)Copyright AVA Development).
Where can i find a clean sample of a basic ogg codec? I could pull apart
theora or vorbis source code to create such a codec, but would be far better

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.9.99.901
Ok, I think we've done enough damage for one release. Thanks everyone
for pulling a long weekend to get changes prepared and reviewed.
We're still missing the threaded input stuff, but that needs more review
and I think we wore Tiago out this time around. If someone wants to
propose merging it after the freeze, I think we should consider doing
it.
Note that this tarball depends on

[ANNOUNCE] xserver 1.20 RC1
This is the first release candidate for xserver 1.20. Notable changes
since 1.19 include:
- RANDR 1.6, which enables leasing RANDR resources to a client for its
exclusive use (e.g. head mounted displays)
- Depth 30 support in glamor and the modesetting driver
- A meson-based build system, parallel to autotools
- Pageflipping support for PRIME output sinks
- OutputClass device matching for

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.19.99.904
Another batch of cleanups and fixes, mostly in glamor and DRI3.
At this point the only outstanding major feature for 1.20 that hasn't
landed yet is EGLStreams support for Xwayland. The patches require some
minor rebasing to account for per-window flips in Present, I'll post
that momentarily I suppose. I'm honestly of two minds about merging it,
the deafening silence of review feedback

Some ideas about embeding data in ogg files...
Greetings, Name's Jason,
I am thinking of some kind of software I can develop as a final project
at my school before I graduate.
My idea is to make an application that would let people manually enter
"beat streams" that can follow along with the music. These "beat
streams" how ever they are processed could be used in many ways.
Visualizations, strobe lights, mood

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.18.1
First release in the 1.18 stable branch. Major themes are bugfixes in
glamor, the modesetting driver, and the Present extension.
Xwayland users may want to apply the following pair of patches in
addition to this release:
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/72945/raw/
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/72951/raw/
which combined fix an input issue when hotplugging monitors. Both are

MAX_LUNS SIZE LIMIT ON RHEL 3.0 and 4.0
Dear List Users-
IHAC planning storage layout and is looking for the following MAX_LUNS
size limit on RHEL 3.0 and 4.0. Details are below. Customer database
size is estimated to grow to 5 TB and worries that they will not be able
to present enough devices to the system if used with EMC powerpath and
RHEL 3.0 max_lun limitations. I have advised on using OCFS or ASM as

I think we're ready for RC1 at this point, but wanted to give people a
chance to scream about "just one more API change" until tomorrow. Let me
know if there's something I'm missing; if I don't hear anything, I'll be
tagging RC1 in the morning.

Hi:
The FreeBSD10-Beta3 kernel is recompiled successfully with the
following in /etc/make.conf
WITH_NEW_XORG=yes
WITH_KMS=yes
WITH_GALLIUM=yes
But after installworld, there is no sight of new xorg-server-1.12.4 in
pkg cache nor in /usr/ports:
How to install new xorg and where is the source?

[ANNOUNCE] libdmx 1.1.5
This library allows X11 clients to use the Distributed Multihead X (DMX)
Extension, as previously implemented in the Xdmx server. X.Org removed
support for the Xdmx server from the xorg-server releases in the version 21
release in 2021. This library is thus now considered deprecated and the
version 1.1.5 release is the last release X.Org plans to make of libdmx.

/etc/network/interfaces
If I''m using eth1 as my lan zone on my router box, it needs a static
ip... what do I set the gateway option to in /etc/network/interfaces
since this computer is actually the gateway for the rest of the lan?
Itself? My "net" NIC''s address? Something else?
