WinAmp Plugin with HTTP Streaming Support
I finally figured out why I was having so many problems with MSVC 5. Compiler optimizations were doing BAD things. :-( Anyway, here's the goodies: http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.dll If you just want the plugin. http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.zip For the source. If somebody can get a working version from MSVC 6 please send it back to me and I'll make it available. That

WinAmp Streaming
I'm currently working on adding streaming capabilities to the WinAmp plugin and was wondering if I'm duplicating anyone else's work. Right now it's about half done. I'll be submitting the changes when it's finished (if I can figure out how to work CVS :-). Aaron Porter --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Winamp plugin; http streaming
Sorry, had to foward this. Chris: Majordomo is triggering on the HTML in the message and rejecting it. Re: HTTP Streaming
Okay, this is similar to how the mp3 streaming was. The question is then, what is the MIME type for the playlist itself? For mp3s, it used to be audio/x-mpegurl?? Thanks, Matt >You need to create a playlist containing the URL of the Vorbis file. Then >the browser will just download the playlist and hand it off to your player. >Which player are you using? Experimental info editor for winamp
Hello everyone, I just want to let everyone know that I have been working on something new for the winamp plugin. Over the past few days I've been putting together a plugin with a comment/info editor. I now have something that is worth showing off. I have a working winamp plugin for Ogg/Vorbis that uses Warren Spits' VCE program to edit and add comments in .ogg files. This also works

HTTP streaming?
I'm attempting to get http streaming working, but the only result I get is that the browser completely downloads the file, and then plays it. I'm using the type application/x-ogg, which AFAIK is the only Vorbis type there is. I used to have mp3 streaming working, but it had different types i.e. mpegurl and I actually used the 'playlist' type where you just give it an http

Winamp plugin streaming problems
I have problems getting streams with the Vorbis WinAmp plugin. MP3 streaming works fine. If I connect to a server, I can see data being sent/received, and the kbps/khz display will change, but no sound is played. Also, after a while the kbps/khz display starts giving bogus values. All the while, data keeps being sent/received, but no sound is ever played. I am behind a HTTP proxy for port 80,

Using Ogg for non broadcast http streaming from a web site
Hi, I was very impressed with the progress that V1 made to 32kbps mono quality for streaming to modem clients, so I've decided to ditch my current dual use of WMA V8 and MP3Pro on my web site in favor of Ogg and open standards. I want to make it as painless as possible for people to hear the Ogg audio samples on my site, after bit of experimenting using .m3u redirector files and Winamp as

streaming ogg from WinAmp
Hi list, I was just wondering if there was a way to stream using ogg format from WinAmp. I could always take the output from WinAmp and feed it in to the sound card on my Linux box and use the live streaming option of ices, but that sounds a bit messy. Also what is a recommended quality to stream ogg at so that modem listeners can pick it up with out many skips. I found that 32k was fine in

Winamp icecast streaming broken?
Hi, I have a few problems with Winamp 2.8. (I can't use or recommend Winamp3 because of all the various problems I've had with it. It seems that Ogg streaming is broken on ports other than port 80. However, streaming in general seems not to work correctly. If I point the winamp client at an icecast or gnump3d server, it locates the file or stream fine, buffers a bit, and starts

format of http stream?
I am streaming ogg via inetd. Basically, I am outputing like: oggenc -Q -b 1 -o - /some/wave/file.wav This works fine with ogg123 (other than that I want the bit rate to be lower than 55-100 range that it is doing). I am using: Ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.0rc2 OggEnc v0.8 (libvorbis rc2) But, FreeAmp for Windows slowly buffered up to 100% then said "Skipped Corrupted File". And

Winamp plugin.
Hello again, Not sure if the following is a bug or just something on my computer. Ok, here's the problem. Today I downloaded the new pre-built beta4 winamp plugin. I've had earlier versions of the winamp plugin for vorbis installed, and every previous one has worked fine. What seems to be happening is that on exit vorbis is causing an error. I'm using the latest version of winamp

Winamp 0% Buffering mp3 streams
make sure that your mountpoint does not have a .ogg extention with the mp3 stream, otherwise, it will try to play using the ogg plugin, and will stay at 0% buffer On Thu, 10 Mar 2005 19:45:09 +0100, Kai Schaetzl <maillists@conactive.com> wrote: > I'm new to streaming or music hearing over the wire, I still prefer my > old-fashioned stereo equipment :-) > But a friend asked me

[Flac-users] WinAmp PlugIn and Ogg framing.
Hello flac-users, I'm trying to play an ogg flac file in WinAmp 2.80 but I get nothing. I'm using the native Vorbis plugin and the shipped FLAC 1.04 plugin. I guess it's a conflict regarding which plugin "owns" the ogg extension or format. I'm not sure. But I wanted to know how good the ogg framing was. But I couldn't test it because metaflac doesn't
