Android App?
One of the things that annoys me about my current mobile phone is that I
cannot use it to play music (naturally all encoded as Ogg Vorbis) as the
phone only supports proprietary formats.
I wonder if things will be any better with phones using the Android platform
- whether anyone has plans to make an open format based player for it and
whether there will be any restrictions uploading such an app

streaming theora in flash
Hi,
I managed to get my own FLV videos working over the web:
http://certik.github.com/record/
it plays in the opensource flash player (flowplayer), but I have to
convert theora to FLV (you can use the script in the package above).
My question is, does anyone know if it's possible to get theora itself
working? I know firefox3.5 will be able to do it, but I am afraid that
will be the only

Linux Foundation removed all Theora videos from linux.com?
I've heard this second hand and haven't had the time to confirm its
vericity. Can someone confirm this is the case?
If so, what were these people thinking? Removing support for the only
video format that is sure to be installed in every Linux box somehow
promoves the OS adoption? You get a WTF award LF, congrats.

Hello,
I'm trying to use macvtap on Debian Wheezy.
Actually, I've installed a recent version of libvirt and qemu from
Jessie, using wheezy-backports.
$ virsh version

Theora for webcam/conferencing use
Hey Theorans,
Yesterday and today I decided to try out broadcasting a video stream
using Theora from my computer's built-in webcam. I was pleasantly
surprised to find that, while maintaining a rate of less than 150kbps,
the stream was of quite a suitable quality sending 640x480 video at 15
frames per second. For now, this is video only, by the way, I did not
include any audio in the stream

Looks like blockpull does not accept a subset of the entire chain of backing files
Hello
If I'm not terribly mistaken, looks like libvirt 1.2.1 does not provide
ability of merging only a subset of the entire chain of backing files.
So, if I have a chain like this:
root <- a <-b <- c <- d <- active
... and I'd like to obtain a chain like this:
root <- c <- d <- active
... looks like it's not supported,

XML Stats heavy problem
Hello Icecast developers,
we are using icecast for a long time now. But we allways must notice, when
some not standard metadata arrives the system, icecast's xml data can't be
successfully parsed with any standard perl xml parsers.
I think it happens because of not unicode conform settings. Would be nice
if you could take a look on it.
Thank you

default_selection L
on the mac root partition so Linux will boot by default

Asterisk on iMac G3 Debian5 (powerpc)
I've recently installed the latest Debian Linux for powerpc onto

and 160MB of sdram.
The debian install went smooth and so the the apt-get install of

It appears to have no functioning zaptel or ztdummy module.
Is because of hardware? or is it because whoever built the package
didn't include a full

[LLVMdev] Can I debug llvm source code by iMac Xcode?
Hi,
I can build llvm3.1 source code by CMAKE first, which generate LLVM.xcodeproj. And then open it by iMac Xcode and build llvm project execution files, clang, llc, llvm-as, ... . But I don't know how to debug it on Xcode IDE since the menu "Product -- Test" is grey color (not enabled). I am writing a llvm backend for fun and used to debug it on linux by gdb -args llc ... . I

[LLVMdev] I can debug llvm source code by lldb on iMac
You should be able to create an xcode project using cmake and then use that
to build and debug llvm (as you've discovered how to create an xcode
project).
Doug may know more.

Kernel panic installing CentOS 5.2 in Parallels on iMac
I'm unable to get much past the "boot:" prompt in the installer. The
panic appears to be in powernowk8_init which according to
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2008-0612.html has a recently-fixed
null-pointer dereference. That errata is from August 4; the latest
CentOS install ISOs are from June.
I tried the agp=off suggestion from e.g.

Finally.... CentOS on iMac core 2
I've been trying several combinations of OSX, CentOS to try and get CentOS
installed on an old iMac. I finally first installed OS X, then installed
CentOS in the open space after OS X. With refit installed and selecting
CentOS, it starts booting but get a screen that a boot device can't e
found. So I then install Xubuntu with the option to replace OS X. After
Xbuntu is installed and then
