Streaming ogg vorbis to windows media player
Hi,
I have been struggling with streaming ogg vorbis audio to windows
media player for a couple of days now with no success. I would really
appreciate if someone could provide more insight into this. Please do
let me know if there is any other mailing list which would be
appropriate for a question like this. I posted this to vorbis mailing list.
However this issue could not be resolved.

Help with Icecast / streaming to Windows Media player
Hi Chris,
I'll try and answer some of the easier questions:
> 2. Are there better options for streaming a list of files than my current
> configuration?
Probably not! Ices0.4 rocks because of its simplicity and stability.
> 3. How do I go about creating a link if I want to stream just 1 file, and
> have it played just once?
The easiest way to do it is to host the MP3 file

Help with Icecast / streaming to Windows Media player
Hi -
I'm a "streaming" newbie. I've recently configured Icecast (v2.2) with Ices
(v0.4) to stream a playlist of MP3 files.
When a user with iTunes as their default media player connects to this
stream (http://www.barsuk.com:8000/barsukradio.m3u), it works just fine.
However, if a user has Windows Media player as their default media player,
WM seems to get stuck

Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player
Where do I go and what do I download to enable Ogg Vorbis Playback with
Windows Media Player? I found something on sourceforge.net but at the top
it says
Current (Test and development files; these can damage your whole DirectShow
system and probably requires a complete Windows reinstallation)
o I don't want to do that, I want to make sure I pick the right thing first

Q: Which Vorbis plugin for Windows Media Player?
Hi,
I had downloaded recent Direct Show Plugins for Windows media Player, but the
sound was terribly: A lot of noise and like in the background the music I was
expecting to hear?
Which is a recommended (working) version of Ogg/Vorbis plugins for Windows Media
Player (9)? Displaying the standard tags would be nice as well...

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I would be in the same ballpark as you, Ross. We are looking at
icecast2/ices as a replacement for our RealAudio streams, as the
licenses we have will expire VERY soon, and we frankly don't have the
money to go dump on new ones. We're looking at serving literally
thousands of listeners, most of which have RealPlayer installed at home
or at work, but have never heard or played with WinAmp,

This may mave been asked before: is there some way once can get the
windows media player to play ogg vorbis content? I don't use windows in
general, but someone has approached me with this question.

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport
I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files.
Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5
- they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any
more that it is an unsupported file format
- they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without
any complaint
- they can be added to the media library.

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I was under the impression that Tobias's Direct Show filters would allow
Windows Media player to play Ogg Vorbis streams, but after testing it
here, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anyway of
making WMP play vorbis streams?
The company I'm involved with who will be creating thousands of internet
stations will most likely need WMP to play the streams, since it is

anybody got Windows Media Player doing streaming?
I can get Windows Media Player (whatever version came with Windows 98 SE) to run
and play local files just fine, but it won't play streaming files from the net.
Has anyone figured out how to do this yet?

Streaming MP3 issues with Windows Media Player
Hello all,
I've set up a live mp3 stream for our non-commercial radio station,
and just recently I've received a slurry of complaints from folks
using Windows Media Player.
Most of the complaints vary, but seem to be consistent regarding long
buffer time, odd drop outs, long reconnect times, etc.
Normally, I refer folks to one of the infinitely better players out
there, but now the

[LLVMdev] llvm-installation
You should use make -j with a number lower than 4, it looks like you ran
out of memory when linking.
