Breakthrugh for Qtcomponents dev?
Finally something is happening with the Ogg Vorbis QuickTime plugin. Today a post on the projects forum enlightened the future for Ogg Vorbis on the mac platform. “publius” wrote this: “Some profiling of oggvorbis.qtx indicated that the lion's share of CPU time was spent inside, of all places, QuickTime itself - but being called from BeginMediaEdits. tcpdump loses lots of packets
Hi folks, I've got a Dell R320 running CentOS 7, and a 10G NIC. I'm running a DNS server on it, for testing. As part of my testing, I'm attempting to capture all the DNS queries arriving on the server, using tcpdump. However, tcpdump's performance is abysmal, and it loses lots of the packets. Here's the output when I stop the capture: # tcpdump -nn -i p1p1 -w

flac files playable in iTunes 5.0.1 ?
Hi, Is the recent version 0.1.5 (08.05.2006) of XiphQT compatible with iTunes 5.0.1 and Mac OSX 10.4? I am trying to get flac files to play in my iTunes and hope I don't have to upgrade iTunes and get all the junk that comes with it. i already have ogg support, so this is an incremental improvement. -- Thanks, Jerry

I can listen to a stream locally but not from anywhere else.
Also don't forget that the full version of WinAmp is required to play oggs. The lite version doesn't support it. iTunes can play local .ogg files but not streams if you download the ogg components from qtcomponents.sf.net. I haven't messed with real player, and I have no intention of doing so. Joel Karl Heyes wrote: > On Mon, 2005-01-31 at 16:46, Brian Beck wrote: >

flac ogg quicktime iTunes
Hello, I'm going to start by asking something that has probably been asked before (although I didn't see it on the lists at sourceforge). Is anyone working on getting iTunes to work with flac? I'm bouncing around a few ideas and it seems like the logical approach would be to write a quicktime component using this project as a base http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net I see a

Two apparent bugs in aov(y~ *** -1 + Error(***)), with suggested (PR#6510)
I think there are two bugs in aov() that shows up when the right hand side of `formula' contains both `-1' and an Error() term, e.g., aov(y ~ a + b - 1 + Error(c), ...). Without `-1' or `Error()' there is no problem. I've included and example, and the source of aov() with suggested fixes below. The first bug (labeled BUG 1 below) creates an extra, empty stratum inside

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component
Hi all, I don't know if this is the place to ask about this, but I'm going to try anyway. There is an ogg-vorbis plugin for iTunes on Mac OS X that is downloadable from http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14259 or http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/13012&mode=feedback Unfortunately, this plug-in (a Quicktime component) crashes iTunes for the latest version of

Two apparent bugs in aov(y~ *** -1 + Error(***)), with (PR#6520)
I believe you are right, but can you please explain why anyone would want to fit this model? It differs only in the coding from aov(y ~ a + b + Error(c), data=test.df) and merely lumps together the top two strata. There is a much simpler fix: in the line if(intercept) nmstrata <- c("(Intercept)", nmstrata) remove the condition (and drop the empty stratum later if you

Quicktime + FLAC?
If i could find some good documentation on quicktime, i'd probably give it a shot... since i already have most of the infrastructure already for directshow. I had a look a few times for detailed info on quicktime, and it all looked pretty painful. Not to mention all the base media handler code provided for the sdk, says not suitable for bitrates greater than like 32kpbs which is useless

Quicktime + FLAC?
I bought myself a PowerBook and hoped to play my FLAC-encoded library via iTunes. Alas -- it doesn't work. My understanding is that iTunes uses QuickTime for playback; does anyone know where to find a FLAC codec for QuickTime? I noticed that there was some discussion about this ~1 year ago on flac-dev. Did any dev projects get underway, or should I roll up my sleeves and give it a go? -Dave

iTunes / quick time
Any idea if/when there will be official ogg support for iTunes or Quick Time for Mac ? The dual G4s have this stupid thing where if we stick the quick time components on the Mac and it screws them up, or the Mac gets screwed later, then it nacks up the warranty or sumthin. Basic point is we need official quicktime or iTunes support so we can play Vorbis on the Mac!!! Anyone heard anything on

Ogg Support For iTunes
Hi, From slashdot.org : "Mac OS X Hints has a story about a plugin for QuickTime and iTunes that enables the user to play all of those Ogg Vorbis files that you have sitting on your hard drive, but can't play because of lack of support from Apple." Links: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20021103065300430 , http://www.illadvised.com/~jordy . Don´t know if this
