to stereo or not to stereo .. that is the question
hello, a very short while ago there was a brief discussion when to use stereo and when to use mono. as you know, Radio France kept its word and now is webcasting in ogg. In total Radio France (through tv-radio.fr/ycast.com) is webcasting eight different stations, using the ogg format. on http://cuba.calyx.nl/~oink/oggstreams/rfoggstreams.html you can find all the streams with m3u files and

dare to compare -- live streams: ogg/WMA
hello all! After having read http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/listen.html and listened to the examples on that very educational page, I decided to augment the info. This example is more simple, it involves the comparision between two streams of the same radio station, FranceInter (a station of Radio France in Paris). The ogg stream is running at around 30 kbps/11 kHz in stereo. The WMA stream

libreadanything ?
Is there a library that decodes any file format ? I need a lib to decode ogg-vorbis (of course) and also wavs, mp3s, flac... Using several different libs is not a good solution. I don't like to use a lot of different APIs to do the same thing with different file formats. -- Giuliano.

Issue with two domains in one LDAP tree
Hi, I've just moved a second Samba domain to LDAP -- it works great! However, the first domain is now dead in the water. It refuses to autenticate, and from the logs it looks like it's not find the SambaDomainName entry in the LDAP tree. Here is a diagram of how my LDAP tree is set up. dc=mycompany,dc=com |___ ou=computers |___ ou=people |___ ou=groups |___ sambaDomain=domain1 |___

Hi, I know little to nothing about samba so need some advice on a problem I'm having. One of my users is trying to mount a UNIX directory onto his PC and gets the error "not authorised from this station". He was able to do this until he had his hard drive swapped out. Desktop have said they all settings are as they were previously and that this is a UNIX issue. Other users on the

Samba / cups problem
Hi all, I have set up a printer in cups and I can see it with lpstat -a, and I can print to it. I put what I thought was the appropriate stuff in smb.conf, and yet no printer shows up to the NT client I'm testing with, or in smbclient -L output. Any ideas at all? Box M test
Dear List I am looking for a script that will calculate the Box M test to test the homogeneity of the variance/covariance matrix between two matrices. If anyone could send me the script I would appreciate it. I am aware of the scepticism about this test, where due to extreme sensitivity a p value of 0.01 is recommended. Despite this however Box's M test is the established

GTA:SA ogg file problem
There is an application that rips the radio stations in the game Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and it produces ogg vorbis files. These files do not play on my iRiver iHP-120, it just skips on to the next track after about 1 second. I can provide an example file if someone would like to take a look and see what might be causing the problem. __________________________________________________ Phil
