Samba, PAM and Netware question
I am currently running Samba 2.0.3 on my RedHat 5.2 linux box. I have some services (such as login, ftpd) set up to authenticate via our Netware server. How can I do this with Samba? I've tried placing the same line in /etc/pam.d/samba as I have in the login and ftp files of the same directory but, as far as i can tell, Samba doesn't even try to use the Pam module to authenticate

Problems building vorbis tools 1.0.1
hi! I've got some problems compiling/linking the vorbis tools. at first I had the same problem as mentioned here: http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis-dev/200201/0005.html (make was looking for libogg.la in the wrong path) but creating a symlink to /usr/local/lib/libogg.la in /usr/lib/ helped. :) having solved this, I get a new error: --- gcc -O20 -ffast-math -fsigned-char -o ogg123

[vorbis-tools] Some patches coming from Debian bugs
Hello. Attached are some patches that some Debian users of vorbis-tools have sent to our BTS over the years (numbers refer to Debian bugs). It'd be nice to see them integrated. They apply cleanly to SVN as of today. The largefile_support one is a bit bigger than just the configure.ac since the submitter adviced that config.h got included in all C source files before the standard includes,

ogginfo: playlength display in milliseconds
Hello Some time ago I posted a lil' patch to this list which adds milliseconds display of playlength to ogginfo. Some folks replied that it's plausible and this patch will be merged to the next version. Vorbistools-1.0.1 got out and the patch is not in it. Why? Anyway, here's this patch for vorbistools-1.0.1. I hope this time you will include it, because milliseconds support is

Questions about License and so on.
Hello there. I'm seeing with a third party library vendor, wich creates components for signal and audio processing for Delphi and BCB, the way to integrate support for OggVorbis, but there are some license issues that I don't know/understand. In plain text: can he create and distribute a component that uses the code available in the Windows SDK, either in the DLL presentation and/or

Hello all, I've been having some problems with the .ogg encoder when run within Windows. Someone at vorbis.com told me to post my problem to the mailing list (which I assume this is, unless I've subscribed to the wrong one) and see if you folks have any pointers. Without further ado: System is a Win98SE machine with a 400Mhz processor and 160Mb of memory. I've downloaded all the

Problems with ogg/vorbis python bindings.
I compiled and installed pyogg followed by pyvorbis, running: $ ./config_unix.py $ python setup.py build and as root: # python setup.py install for pyogg and pyvorbis in turn. This completed without error, however upon trying to import ogg.vorbis in IDLE I get an import error: ImportError: libvorbisfile.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I was told this may have

manpages in mdoc(7)
Dear authors of Vorbis, currently, the manpages that come with vorbistools are written in the traditional man(7) markup language. I am proposing to rewrite them into the semantic markup of the mdoc(7) language. I am willing to do the work. Both the man(7) and mdoc(7) languages have been around for decades, and are supported by the prevalent formatters: groff(1) on most Linuxes and mandoc(1) on

wrappers
Hi, I've sent one of these before, but i wasn't subscribed, and i'm unsure if it went out. I'm subscribed now and i've written another (i believe) nifty wrapper for oggz-tools. oggz-comments - allows a user to pass the plain text file with each tag on their own line theoracomment - works like 'vorbiscomment' from VorbisTools package, but sets comments for the

different output for opt/non-opt on win32 platform
hi all, thanks Jean for the codec. I am new to speech coding. Am interested to implement speex on a TI dsp, say C54. just downloaded speex v 1.1.6. when I removed optimisation flags for win32 in libspeex.dsp, I get a slightly different output for decoding using speexdec.exe (debug version). no prob for speexenc.exe except for some differences in the ogg header. for anyone interested, i

Win64 problems
I am having problems with my program decoding .ogg files on the Win64 platform and am wondering if this is a known issue or not. I have tried using the prebuilt .dll's, the static .lib's and building from source (1.1.3) and I get the same results. My program is being compiled on a win32 platform, but the decoder fails if I run it on a win64 system. Unfortunately this is being reported

streamripper

You can even use vcut (from vorbistools) to trim this down > to an exact sample if you want to do program archiving with it. hmmm.. ok. something like streamripper would be nice though ;) particularly for things like
