RE: Hlp in finding a native Ogg trim, fade & nomalise tool

I just had to study what the clipping prevention option does in the Winamp plug-in - http://www.xs4all.nl/~walterln/replaygain/dsp_replaygain.txt. I thought it was simply preventing clipping of the original waveform (ogg file). I see now that

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there. While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played. 2. I check the option of

Hello, I'm having issues with Ogg Vorbis that I need help with... I'm a PC user (P4 1.3GHz) and I'm encoding 60-70 minute wav files using either: Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 6.0 or Ogg Drop V1.6.11c into .ogg format. I use 160 kBit/s nominal VBR and the files work out to be about 60/70MB in size. If I listen to the ogg files from start to finish it's fine...but if I try and skip

Mac Ogg Vorbis Player
Well, I updated the player to work with the branch_postbeta2, but it contains some nasty kludges to the project files that probably shouldn't be finalized. I'm going to put it in a separate file (http://oscar.the-rileys.net/programming/vorbis_pb2.tar.gz) for now. Unfortunately, this release doesn't seem to fix the "tearing sound" problem. I think this might be related to

Response to Ogg Vorbis comments

Does Winamp have Vorbis decode built-in? Winamp just put the finishing touches on their own vorbis plugin, and we expect it to ship in the next version. Sonique has already had Vorbis for some time (millions of

Streaming ogg vorbis to windows media player
Hi, I have been struggling with streaming ogg vorbis audio to windows media player for a couple of days now with no success. I would really appreciate if someone could provide more insight into this. Please do let me know if there is any other mailing list which would be appropriate for a question like this. I posted this to vorbis mailing list. However this issue could not be resolved.

ReplayGain support for Vorbis
Hello all, I'm glad to announce to you that Vorbis now has full ReplayGain support. If you're not familiar with ReplayGain, take a look at www.replaygain.org. The main features are: a) all songs play back with equal loudness b) removes the need for normalization c) allows for clipping prevention Using it is very simple. Get a compatible decoder (ogg123, XMMS and WinAmp all support it

WMP blues :^(
Hello Everybody, I'm having the strangest problem getting WMP 10 to stream from my icecast server. I'm currently serving two streams - one is a 128kbit/s mp3 stream, the other is a 32kbit/s mp3 stream Even when explicitly declaring the stream type to be http in icecast.xml , the 32kbit/s stream buffers *VERY* slowly (it takes about 3-5 min) in WMP before finally playing.

How to split an Ogg Vorbis stream?
I looked through the archives and I didn't really seem to find the answer to what my question. I used wget to get an audio stream from a site and now I would like to be able to split up the stream into the individual songs. The site is nice enough to encode the artist and track name in each new song. This info is displayed in Winamp when the song plays. Doing an xxd dump of the file I can

icecast2 ogg vorbis client request headers
That seems it may work, however the server adds the client (php proxy script in this case) and does not disconnect it, however winamp does not recieve any audio, just sits there saying BUFFERING I know its related to the amount of bytes read into the header or something in that area as my tests with shoutcast nsv resulted in the same fashion. the main goal of this is for subscription

another Icecast2/Vorbis stream on-line
Connected to the stream just fine with the Winamp plugin & listened for about 20 min. A few dropouts & 1 disconnect - but I'm on a flaky DSL circuit this morning, so that's hardly unexpected. Winamp reported bitrates from 26-31 kb/s. The sound quality was very decent, given the bitrate. I noted a few artifacts in the 6-8 kHz range (cymbals & electric-guitar harmonics) on an

file(1) support for Ogg and Ogg/Vorbis
Hi all, While I was busy sorting out my music collection, I discovered that file(1) had no Ogg/Vorbis (or Ogg/* for that matter) support yet. Is there anyone working on support for this or am I using an outdated version of file(1) ? file(1) has extensive MP3 support. Compare the following : $ file */*.ogg | grep 01 Busta Rhymes - Genesis/01 Intro.ogg: data De La Soul -
