gen-mpegurl.m3u source/making a clean weblink to broadcast
Thanks guys, this is exactly what I was looking for. Now, all I have to do is figure out how to start icecast and liveice cleanly when the machine cycles power. I tried just naively sticking /usr/local/icecast/bin/icecast & /usr/local/icecast/bin/liveice & into rc.local, but something weird happens. It just loops on a message 'you can run but you can't hide' over and over

communication between icecast and sources
I was actually thinking of implementing something like this for ices, Such that the user could dynamically request songs to be streamed to the server. Makes it easier for wrapper applications (such as jukeboxes) to control the stream rather than relying on files and SIG's for RPC. Is there anything like this being planned? communication between icecast and sources
re all! anybody thought about communication between icecast and streaming sources? it would be nice to know how much people is listening directly from the program you use to stream, or maybe do stuff like switching the clients from a source to another with a simple click and so on i know this could be done using a telnet connection and eventually i'm going to do so, but i thought that if

icecast "multicasting" ?

Do you mean that icecast can accept a stream from another icecast server and then distribute that stream to its "listeners"?

gen-mpegurl.m3u source/making a clean weblink to broadcast
Hi guys. I've been running icecast for awhile, and just upgraded to the latest version. Everything works fine, nice work. Here's the deal, I'm still not sure how to make a clean link to my broadcast. On the icecast.org site, it calls a cgi-bin file called 'gen-mpegurl.m3u.' This always stars up my broadcast nicely. Is there anyway to get the source code to

Looking for a non-graphical mp3 streaming tool
Hi; I want to use a headless, debian linux box (no console) as my audio streamer. I've installed shoutcast and icecast multiple times without problems, but I have yet to find a streaming tools as effective as WinAMP on a windows box. I don't need the graphics and don't want to listen to the source on the server (a sparcstation 10), I just want something that I can use to develop a

Mac BSD license question
Greetings, First off let me say that Ogg Vorbis kicks butt. Great work to all involved! I apologize for fuzziness in my wording here. There are many details I am not allowed to reveal at this point for fear of upsetting development partners. That being said: I have compiled the beta4 source (without modifying it) and wrapped it into a plugin for a commercial multimedia collaboration

congratulations :)
..on inclusion in an "official" kernel release. (Well, two if you count 2.5.0 :) Your work is much appreciated. Btw, was the fsync bug fixed in -pre8 potentially a dangerous one?

congratulations
Hello lartc, Seems in 2.6.8 added option in kernel configuration - to choose clock source (jiffies, gettimeofday, or cpu), on my opinion VERY useable option. Seems Stef Coene can update FAQ on his website ;) -- Best regards, Denis mailto:nuclearcat@nuclearcat.com _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl

Congratulations!
I've been using Wine ever since I first installed Ubuntu, and it used to be really laggy with almost no programs running well. I can truthfully say, however, that the newest version is absolutely fantastic and I've had almost no issues with it! Keep it up, Wine. Anyone else notice this?

Congratulations to Kamailio - Infoworld Best of Open Source Awards
Friends, I would like to congratulate kamailio.org - a project we're cooperating a lot with. They have just been awarded the BOSSIE award by InfoWorld. Kamailio is the OpenSER SIP proxy project with a new name, a product widely used in Asterisk installations. And of course, the motivation mentions Asterisk :-) From InfoWorld site: "Award winners in network and network

Congratulations on the release of 1.0.0
I see Peter has just announced the release of 1.0.0, on time, even here in Australia, in accordance with a timetable privately announced about 6 months ago. At that time it seemed optimistic to put it mildly. I am not a member of the core team, but as an ordinary user of R with a more privileged inside view than most I'd like to offer my personal congratulations and thanks. This is the
