listing 2 streams - Non Icecast (Unix) servers
What about servers that are neither ICECast(unix) our Shoutcast?
What is needed in order to properly touch, list, update and remove a listing from a non-icecast server onto the icecast YP or anything based on the same listing directory code?
Any help on that would be great. I would love to get my Win32 Icecast Vorbis stream to list somewhere. Try it out.

Realtime encoding at 44.1khz
Hi:
I've been experimenting with streaming vorbis across my network from the
windows box to an icecast2 server on my linux machine (the server I usually
use is having some network issues at present). I've tested both ostream
0.7.1 and oddcast beta26. It seems that neither can encode on the fly on
my P2-266 at 44100 fast enough to be able to stream it. Ostream looked the
more promising

range support / stream seeking not supported by Winamp 5 and WMP 10?
Hi,
I was just checking out icecast-2.2.0. You guys have done a great job yet
again!
I was interested in the range support / stream seeking on static files,
since that would be a really useful feature for my clients.
Range support / stream seeking seems to work with RealPlayer v10, but not
with Winamp 5 or Windows Media Player 10.
Does anyone else have this experience? Is there a way to make it

yp.icecast.org || when does your stream come into the db?
Hi:
IIRC, the oddcast DSP plugin (http://www.oddsock.org) will allow
mountpoints (or at least oddsock said it would soon). Samcast apparently
already does, but I forget the URL for this (it's in the list archive
somewhere). These are winamp DSP plugins.
Geoff.

Thanks,
Is there anyway to get a pre 2.3 compiled version of this for Windows?

A mountpiont is a fragment of a URL (often referred to as a URI) like
'/stream1' or '/my_cool_stuff/stream.ogg'
You tell shout, ices, or whatever what mountpoint to use.

Live stream equalizer
Uh, WinAmp 2 with Oddsock?
You'll probably want an EQ-plugin though, since WinAmp's default isn't
great.

Line input to client for Icecast Server
My needs are simple. I need a Windows client to accept the line input
on my sound board and stream it to an Icecast server. I plan to
encode the stream at 56kbps stereo.
I tried this about 2 years ago using Winamp with the Oddsock plugin.
This turned out to be a very time-wasting excersize in futility.
I gave up, but now I'm back hoping the technology (and documentation) is there.

Multiple streams for different quality settings ?
Hi,
I would like to send 3 streams to my server, three times exactly the
same audio but with different quality setting to get a low, medium and
high quality stream.
I've got icecast2 setup on a debian server and I'm streaming ogg with
oddcast from winamp, everything's working just fine.
Is there another win32 package to get this done ? We are going to do
live audio in the end so we

OT: whats your opinion of ODDSOCK streamTranscoder?
What is everyones opinion and expierience with using ODDSOCK
streamTranscoder to downsample mp3 streams?
I tried it on Windows 2000 and then compared it against shoutCAST DSP
plugin. It sucked. It skipped and popped and cut off the first 1/2 second of
each track and dropped. It sucked, while shoutCast DSP was flawless.
What attracted to me to streamTranscoder was you don't have to run an MP3

Where can I get a downloadable stream directory?
Hi,
I?m working in an application that connects to Icecast servers. I assume
that there is no legal issues regarding this because everything is free
here. What I don?t know is how to get a stream directory. There is one at
icecast.org, it?s OK to get it from there? Any other sources? Thanks.

Damian

OT: whats your opinion of ODDSOCK streamTranscoder?
This is all happening on a box with:
Win 2k SP3
512K RAM
1.2 GHZ Celeron
The PC has noother load...all its doing is downsampling an MP3 stream to
lower bitrates.
I'm using the LAME_ENC.DLL with streamTranscoder. There is no version number
tagged on the lame_enc.dll, but the file is dates July 2002.
When I refer to "skipped and popped and dropped" I am referring to your

Depending on what you are broadcasting, for 28.8 I would go 16kbps and be
really safe...

Hello and Stream Listing
Hello Everyone!
My name is John Silvers PD/CE of Pirate Radio 100.3FM (KQLZ Los Angeles)
I wanted to introduce myself to everyone.
We are switching over from our 2072 Shoutcast streams to Ogg with the
help from Dave at Mediacast1.
It seems mp3PRO is just not catching on but the I think the ogg sounds
way better then mp3PRO and not just one player can hear the difference
plus no plug-in to push
