Multichannel files
Hi, As I´ve understood things, the Ogg Vorbis format supports more that two channels (stereo). Is there any tools to encode x sourcefiles into one .ogg file? I am a musican and am thrilled with the ide of makeing music in surround (or in more than stereo). This leads to my next question: is there (developing) any decoders for multichannel oggs to, let us say, 4.1 or 5.1 surround? Wouldn´t it

totem: something wrong with gstreamer-plugins-ugly
When running totem to play a move (e.g. mpeg-1 file), it fails with the message: "A MPEG-1 System Stream demuxer plugin is required to play this stream, but not installed." After reading docs and trying various things I've reduced the source of the problem to the package gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.11-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm # rpm --rebuilddb # rpm -q libdvdread libdvdread-4.1.3-1.el5 #

Installing el3 packages on CentOS 4
Is it possible to install el3 packages on CentOS 4? I'm wondering because there are some packages on dag (for example ac3dec) that are built for el3 and not for el4. Is it better to rebuild the source rpm? Thanks. Sincerely Jose Alburquerque

5.1 surround channel coupling
>Yesterday I have finished writing the ambisonic pan filter for oggenc. May I ask what this "pan filter" is? I made some tentative suggestions for coupling Ambisonic B-format in a post "Vorbis Ambisonic coupling" on 4feb07 I gather from the last monthly meeting, that some of you, including Monty, had problems with the phase behaviour of B-format. Would anyone like a

5.1 surround channel coupling
It obviously would be nice to have such a mode available, for e.g. DVD audio compression. Apparently, the list doesn''t tell me too much about it. My questions are: 1. What is the current status of the 5.1 channel coupling in Vorbis? 2. If I''ll be interested in participation in its development, what is the recommended reading? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

bad performance on 2.4.23
hi, - big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) - I have collected and classified some information of: http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference. Complete information is in the upper URL. dbench: Performance is worse. dbench (Numbers are in

Fwd: Re: Clarification on pshycho-acoustic in Vorbis (your non-MP3 guide)
After reading http://mp3.radified.com/mp3.htm I sent Rad an explanation of some things as I understand them. He liked it and posted it on his site (still unlinked, use the URL below). Can somebody with better understanding of psycho-acoustic terms and the vorbis model check it and comment on it? In particular I didn't know how vorbis handles quantization noise. If you reply with

hardware or software bug?
I had the following spat out by syslog on my (2.4.18-pre7-ac3) mailer / web server: Assertion failure in do_get_write_access() at transaction.c:611: "!(((jh2bh(jh))->b_state & (1UL << BH_Lock)) != 0)" One of its partitions froze hard--I've rebooted it, and I have an oops which the BUG() triggered which won't decode at the moment, but I'll sort that one out

Is sftp-server's stdout redirected to client ?
Hello everyone, I added some code to sftp, which would be useful for me. I add a command "run", which can run any command on the remote shell, in the mean time I want the server send the standard output back. for example, when I : sftp> run ls I want to see the result locally. I thought the stdout of sftp-server has been redirected to the client. But I get "message too
