Hallo,
omeone has reported, that there is no sound when playing ogg files in Media
Player on Windows Millenium. At the same time Media Player consumes all CPU. If
someone can confirm this, please respond here:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=124101&forum_id=76141
or post a message to either me or zorannt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net , because
I can't reproduce this.

AVI stream w/ AC3 5.1ch
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I have an AVI file (~900MB) that I want to convert to OGM format, with a
~ DivX 5 video and uncompressed AC3 (5.1ch) audio stream. Nandub doesn't
want to compress the audio, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend
a (Windows) tool to help. Thanks for your time!

Vorbis in DivX
Hello all
Could you please tell me if and how Vorbis is used for the audio in
DivX?
Is it still encapsulated within ogg container format in DivX or does
DivX
contain raw Vorbis encoded packets?
Any clues or pointers would be helpful.
Thanks & regards

Audio/video synchronization in ogm files
Hi!
I made an ogm file with ogg audio and divX video. When I play it, sound and movie are not well synchronous (I played it with WMP and ashampoo). What can I do?
NB: I know that this problem does not come from the audio and the divX video files, since when I make a mp3/divX avi file, it works.
Sincerely,
Frédéric.

Win32 Project Files and SDK Question and Patch
The Win32 SDK directory layout seems to need a small update in my eyes. Here's
why:
1. Debug symbols get overwritten
Problem: When the project files in the vorbis/win32 build, all temporary files
of vorbis, vorbisfile and vorbisenc go into Dynamic_Debug (for the dynamic debug
build as an example). The problems arise, when someone wants to debug the code.
Since Visual C++ puts the symbols

Speex: Open-source, patent-free speech coding
Hi,
We would like to announce the first release of the Speex project. Speex
(http://speex.sourceforge.net) is an open-source (LGPL), patent-free
compression format allowing an alternative to expensive proprietary
codecs. Unlike Ogg Vorbis which compresses general audio, Speex is
designed especially for speech. For that reason, Speex is meant to be a
complement to Vorbis. Since it is specialized

SSSCA
This may not directly be a vorbis topic, but it could have some VERY serious
implications for open source development. I read this morning on the doom9
site about the "Security Systems Standard and Certification Act." I not a
lawyer so I'm just going by doom9's interpretation. Here's an excerpt from
doom9:

Suggestions/Pointers on where to begin my search for a solution?
Hi-
I''m working in the IT department of a small liberal arts university-- we''re
getting *massacred* by P2P traffic.
Informal testing/probing indicates that about 60% of our traffic from the
dorms was P2P-- we''ve taken the initial step of hardlimiting the dorms to no
more than 40% of outgoing university bandwidth. Also, we''ve blocked the

(newbie alert) - home DV video and Premiere?
Howdy. I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, I missed it. (Just
point me to the right archive if there is such a thing?)
<p>Q1) Is there an easy "setup.exe" or similar, to install the Vorbis codec
into Windows?
Q2) Would that codec then be available under Adobe Premiere (or Windows
Media Player for that matter)?
Q3) Anyone recommend codec & settings, for

Having stability problems with Linux-2.6.34.7-0.5-xen
Hello,
I am using Xen 4.0.0_21091_06-0.1 on OpenSuse 11.3 64 bit, with a
Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit guest, and my workstation keeping locking up,
even the NumLock and CapsLock keys being unresponsive when it does.
Where should I begin troubleshooting?
Thanks,
Todd

R console Mac
Hi there,
I recently switched to Mac and I wonder if there is any way to get the R
console to autocomplete names of list objects or slots of objects. The
command line version allows to type e.g. list$ and two times the tab
button and then comes up with the names of the list objects. Same for slots of e.g. Eset objects
like eset. Unfortunately this does not work in the Mac R console.
Is there a

Ogg in my car
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned on the list or I'll kind of look
stupid...
The Ogg Developers may already be aware of this, but I thought this would
be news for most of the people who subscribe to this list. I saw this on
NewsForge where they referenced an article from MP3Newswire.net The article
is about Kenwood announcing a digital music system for cars that supports

loss of information in pdf plots
Hi there
is it possible that pdfs generated using the pdf() function with default settings leads to loss of information? I was plotting copy number changes from Agilent 180k data in form of rectangles (rect()) while each rectangle represents one region of copy number change. When plotting into a pdf I noticed that some very small rectangles do not appear (even after extensive zooming) in the pdf

Re: [advocacy] current tshirt/slogan submissions
Two notes on my T-shirt design...
Had I known there was an official logo/font for the Ogg Vorbis and Xiph I
would have used it. Sorry if this causes any problems. :o)

As for the phenomenon vs. standard I think I may want to explain. It seems
that whenever the media reports on Ogg (or ANY open source project for that
matter) they often use the word phenomenon to

ActiveRecord Question
Hi all
I am new to Rails, and obviously I''m missing something, I''ll get straight to the question:
A User has many operations (granted to her), each Operation is associated with an OperationType. Each Operation may be associated with more then one User.
So the model goes like this:
class User < ActiveRecord::Base

Re: ACM codec
Mr. Blum,
I had to make some assumptions writing the driver, because I had no previous
experience writing ACM drivers. I did what I could based in Microsoft's
documentation but, of course, I made same mistakes. I had no time to test
the code I wrote yet and will not in the next 2 weeks. All I can tell you
now is about what I did and about my sources. So, considering your
enthusiasm, I suggest

Problem in FLAC__stream_decoder_process_metadata
Hi,
I have a problem when I try to open a file, which is not a FLAC file. When I
open a non-flac file with the stream decoder API, one of the first things called
is FLAC__stream_decoder_process_metadata, which itself calls
stream_decoder_find_metadata_. Unfortunately the non-flac file contains some
content, which leads to the state set to FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_READ_FRAME.
However in
