Vorbis support in Winamp
I would like you guys to test the latest version of my plug-in:
http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip
This one is considered the final version and there are no known bugs in it,
but you might be able to find some.
quick notes:
* HTTP seeking is as slow as hell, don't use it.
* UTF8 stuff should (finally) work correctly now.

PS. Better genre editor user IS being worked on.

Winamp plug-in
When using Winamp's diskwriter with the ogg plug-in v1.13 the
resulting wav files are only named 01, 02, etc. So the original names
are lost. I hope Peter can fix this.

Winamp plug-in tag editor bug
There is a bug in winamp plug-in tag editor that corrupts
files encoded in -b192 mode - these files have trouble
with seeking. So get the latest plug-in:
http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe
If some of your files have been messed up by this bug,
you have to re-encode them.

A killer clip
Check this clip (it's small, 373kb)
http://www.geocities.com/jdxss/udialwav.zip
It left oggenc, lame and MP+ encoders choking in dust.

Alternate winamp plugin.
Hello everyone,
I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other
day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own
winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those
that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't
e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp

WinAmp plug-in based on RC1?
Hi,
I just downloaded this and it says it's based on RC1 in the about box. Is
that a typo or is the plug-in not updated?

Winamp 2.80 Vorbis problem confirmed on my comp
I first downloaded Winamp Lite, which did not have Vorbis
plugin, and installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin:
http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe
That did not work, for some reason.
Afterwards, I downloaded the Standard version and tried playing
ogg files: it didn't work either. I installed the latest PP
Vorbis plugin over this version, but still the same.
What's up??

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.13a (BUG)
Hi, there.
Thanx for the update, Peter. That scrolling stuff working...but this
time, the information on the artists and the titles are not displayed
on the playlist till the song is being played. Is this happening to
only me (I am on Win98SE)?
At r3mix forum (http://r3mix.net/forum or http://r3mixforum.cjb.net),
there is a high-level discussion on the channel coupling implementation

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi!
( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters
homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I
am not sure what his email address is )
I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes
winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position
slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp
does not respond to any user input

listening conditions
Hi!
What are the assumed listening conditions in vorbis ?
For example there are big differences in perceived sound
when listening with headphones compared to listening with
speakers. ( "super stereo effect" , different frequency
response due to HRTF etc ... ).
Is this stuff worth considering in a vorbis class encoder ?

Encoder differences, beta4 -> 1.0rc1
Hi all,
Were there encoder differences between beta4 and 1.0rc1? A precompiled
oggenc for Windows identifies itself as beta4, and from a certain mono
file produces 53.3 kb/s files, whereas one I've compiled myself,
identifying itself as 1.0rc1, produces 55.9 kb/s. Is this a feature or
a bug?
Also, all the links to images at the top of:
http://www.vorbis.com/download_win.psp
are broken.

Can I encode now?
I saw the news about release 1.0 coming up this weekend, but was wondering
if there is any reason not to encode now with the pre-release software I
have. I want to use CDex with its Ogg support ("Ogg Vorbis DLL Encoder
version 1.04, engine 1.04) to replace my MP3 files with Ogg -- and would
like to start this weekend while I have the time.
Any advice or suggestions appreciated...

pre-RC1 downloads
Hi!
Propably a stupid question, but where can I get those brandnew encoders
from? It'd be great if someone could post those URLs to the list for
people like me who don't read any forums (no time, no fun :P). Thanks in
advance!
Obtw, CVS would be fine, too ... but as long as the new code isn't
merged to the main branch I feel pretty lost searching for it. Any help
here would also be

Orbis VS MP3
I'm hearing some people say/insist that Orbis takes up more CPU than MP3.
Is this true and by how much?
