Winamp bug
Sorry I didn't make my question clearer. What I did was use the oggenc program to encode some ogg files. Then I played them inside Winamp with the ogg plugin. Everytime I play an ogg file I get a beep at the end. Sometimes it will crash the Winamp ogg plugin sometimes it won't. I downloaded the cvs nightly snapshot code but I have yet to compile it. I am getting out of environment space

oggenc
Anyone hacking on oggenc to make it faster? It seems pretty slow on my PIII 500. Of course I am judging that against mp3 compression which is heaps faster on my machine. Is ogg encoding more complex than mp3 encoding? -- ICQ: 7205161 http://sapphire.sourceforge.net/ - A small window manager for X11 http://javathingies.sourceforge.net/ - My java junk "The box said it requires Windows 95 or

building ogg
Okay I figured out the environment space problem. Now I am trying to build the winamp plugin but I am missing the httpstream.h file. I downloaded the nightly cvs snapshot. Anyone know where I can get that file? I searched the entire snapshot but cannot find that file. Thanks! -- ICQ: 7205161 http://sapphire.sourceforge.net/ - A small window manager for X11 http://javathingies.sourceforge.net/ -

apache refuses to start because of port conflict
Here is the deal. I''m trying out the latest Instant Rails and when I start it Apache claims that the web port is being used. "Apache cannot be runned : another Web server use the Web port" Okay, no problem. I went into the Apache configuration and changed the port it was binding to. However I get the same problem. The troubleshooting continues, so I install Apache by itself

[Flac-users] Winamp 2/Winamp 3 and FLAC plug-ins
I know that Winamp has its loyal following. I've never used it much. Also, I'm a novice at computer music. I've always just bought CD's and never used computer music. So perhaps I'm an idiot or just not very music-software literate, but I so far haven't been impressed with Winamp, or the FLAC plug-in. Just for one example, I've got a dual-Althlon MP 2000 system

I'm moving this over to flac-users... Anyway, are you using Mike Wren's installer? I'm not familiar with that yet. Can WINE be used to run WinAmp on a Mac? I just recently got a Macbook Pro for school and one of my classmates suggested WINE to me to run WinAmp.

range support / stream seeking not supported by Winamp 5 and WMP 10?
Hi, I was just checking out icecast-2.2.0. You guys have done a great job yet again! I was interested in the range support / stream seeking on static files, since that would be a really useful feature for my clients. Range support / stream seeking seems to work with RealPlayer v10, but not with Winamp 5 or Windows Media Player 10. Does anyone else have this experience? Is there a way to make it

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll. Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

New WinAMP 3.0
Hi. Winamp version 3.0 has been announced. There will be no public beta and final version is expected for Christmas. Winamp 3.0 will be completely re-written version, but current plug-ins and skins (for winamp 2.x) will NOT be compatible with Winamp 3 (though this will be addressed in later winamp 3 versions). More info: http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/winamp3x/ Anyway, the reason I'm sending

Bad stuttering with Winamp 2.80
The only thing that has changed is the winamp version number. My radio streams are unaltered (to the point of the same process connecting to two versions of Winamp). What happens is that I begin to hear skips in the stream. Soon the stream is full on stuttering, as if a square wave was modulating the volume control. Anyone else experience this? ------ Dave Hayes - Consultant - Altadena CA, USA

Winamp plugin not recognized at all
I happily downloaded the official beta4 winamp plugin as well as Mattew's versions with VCE interated and with/without the dialog. When I installed it winamp (v2.72) didn't recognize it (no vorbis plugin listed in the config, doesn't play ogg files) - same for all of them. I recompiled it myself from Mattew's source with vce - same results. It does recognize the old plugin when

vorbis winamp plugin
Hi I've developed a player that utilizes winamp input plugins for decoding audio to PCM. I'm going to include an open source mp3 input plugin, in_mpg123.dll, and I'm wanting an open source in_vorbis.dll as well. One question. Since vorbis is open source, would it break any rules to distribute the in_vorbis.dll included with Winamp? I presume so but thought I would ask.

Winamp streaming to icecast2
Hello, I'm trying to set up winamp to stream a live event to an icecast2 server. I've got the icecast2 server set up, and to date have streamed playlists only via ices0 or ices2, now I'm wanting to stream live using winamp. Software wise, I'm needing to use free or open source software, the icecast2 server is a Linux machine, the Winamp will be on either a Win7 or a WinXP

FLAC winamp plugin
Hi, What is the best way to play FLAC files in winamp? Using the in_flac.dll plugin provided in the flac-1.1.4-win.zip file and copying it to the Plugins subdirectory of winamp or using the plugin that's provided by winamp itself? Are there differences between those 2 plugins? It's not really clear for me thanks in advance Harry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

Winamp equalizer problems
I just wanted to know if anyone has noticed a difference between MP3 and OGG encoded files when having the Winamp equalizer switched on? I seem to be missing bass and the sound doesn't fill the room as much with OGG. With the EQ turned off there is no discernable difference between both LAME and Vorbis encoded files (both at an average of 192 kbps). Is this an error with the OGG Winamp plugin?

WinAMP directory listing? and other questions...
Hello, I was wondering if Icecast servers are listed in the WinAMP directory? I would also like to know how to include the title of the currently playing song in the Stream Title. Does Icecast supports a "backup" file just as Shoutcast has for when the source clients goes offline? I am using ices 0.4 and Icecast 2.2.0. Thank you for your reply! Rafael Fernandez
