RE: FhG $15k minimum and games...

I am a lead programmer at a major game company
(Maxis) and Vorbis is potentially very important
to us. I am pushing to make it the default streaming
sound format (e.g. non-sound effects) for all
future titles. This assumes that it works as well
as anticipated. Other subdivisions of Electronic

Coding in python using shout-python bindings
Just a thought:
I don't know the python API, but it reminds me of a common
"bug"/strange behaviour in other languages (eg PHP): often this
happens because one call to "f.read(4096)" is not enough to get the
full message. And if I recall exactly, it's no use to increase from
4096 to 8192 or more : it's because the f.read method is async, i.e.
one call may not

Coding in python using shout-python bindings
Hello,
I'm creating a module written in python that brings an easy to implement
interface for the libshout lib, mainly to provide streaming capabilities
to a gnome player called Exaile (http://www.exaile.org). The module is
almost done (already available at
http://devpower.blogsite.org:8080/archivos/icastplugin.py) but I'm
encountering some problems (I believe sync problems):

icast.com has been shutdown
...as it has been announced before.
Also, I can't access www.vorbis.com, it seems that this site came down
together with icast.com. So the only official vorbis web site now is only
at hiph.org. Just to let everyone know...
Greetings,
Aleksandar

Large issue - having trouble diagnosing.
Hello,
I am having a lot of trouble with my deployment of Asterisk. I am running
the PBX-In-a-flash turnkey of Asterisk and ever since deployment I have had
many different problems. I have managed to get all issues sorted out as I go
along, until this one that randomly began last week.
We are using Grandstream GXP 2000 Handsets in the office, and at TE110P card
to interface to our ISDN OnRamp10

Can we use this software to listen the music that's coming from Icast and Museter server and if we have a silent issue on the stream can this software automatic move to backup station?

Icecast usability
Hi
We are looking for a product that applies to this specs.
1) We need to allow different users / departments access to upload Audio
and Video files for streaming
2) We need to comply with MPEG4 and MP3. And that playing does not require
a specific player (we can accept Windows Media Player, QuickTime, iTunes,
Winamp)
3) We want users to be able to organise their material - and that m3u

lme mildly blowing up
I'm running a hierarchical linear model of legislative committee
representativeness (so I have committees in chambers) using lme. It's a
simple random-intercept-as-outcome model.
When I run it, everything converges and I get results like this, trimmed
for brevity. The following are the group(chamber)-level variables. The
dependent variable is bounded between zero and one.

DES, eBones and crypt availble for non-US!
Hello World!
(In particular, that part of it ouside the USA and Canada)
I have (with official sanction of the organisation concerned)
a LEGAL site for the distribution of crypt and Kerberos code.
The secure code (crypt) is _identical_ to the US code. It originated in
South Africa and Australia, and has never been to the US, so it is totally
kosher. The Kerberos (eBones actually) code stared out

Wine Win16 support in 1.2+ releases
Hi there. Last year I was using Wine 1.2 and 1.3 versions under Linux Mint 11 Katya tyo run an the old Maxis SimFarm. It was able to run but would freeze up after a few hours. Also I noticed there was no sound for the game. I Also ran some Win32 apps, some of which had sound and they had no problems at all. Is the support for Win16 apps not being maintained any more?
Currently I am in the middle
