Dirac question
Hi again, could someone tell me why there is links to Dirac on the Xiph
wiki? The BBC takes care of Dirac, not Xiph? Is Xiph just a promoter?
Secondly, how would one choose to save the video in a lossless format with
Dirac, is there some interface (like a switch) in an application for this
to be achieved?

Updates to development?
Hi, again. Are there any updates to the development of Theora? Like a
version 1.2? I ask this because I want to be re-assured Theora is not just
sitting while people are choosing H.264...

Ptalarbvorm Update?
To my recollection, there hasn't been any talk about Ptalarbvorm. Is
Ptalarbvorm development ditched? (I have noticed some commits for it every
now and then, but nothing like the amount of commits last year)

Ogg Vorbis in Creative products petition
Hi all dudes.
We're organizing a petition to ask Creative to include Ogg Vorbis
support in one of their next firmware releases of their
digital players. This is very important for two reasons:
1) Creative is a big company. If they include Ogg support in their
digital players, other manufacturers will follow the example.
2) This should improve use experience of this class of products for

Petition for PunkBuster Support/Version for WINE in Linux
Greetings,
I started this petition the other day.
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/PunkBusterforWINE
As legitimate owner of a game, regardless of platform (providing that it will actually run) - one should be entitled to the online experience attached to the game.
Sadly, for many Windows(tm) games under WINE this cannot be done because of the PunkBuster Anti-Cheat protection which does not

Opera 10.50 released
Today we released Opera 10.50, the first officially supported Opera
release that supports <video> with Ogg Theora since we first
experimented with it way back in 2007. Please enjoy and don't forget
to file bugs :)

[1.5.2]-Blizzard Game Downloader Crashes?
Hi,
Blizzard's game download program is crashing on WINE 1.5.2.
When run, program downloads game for few minutes then crashes with segfault.
Both WINE 1.4.x and current WINE 1.5.2 show this problem.
Both Linux Mint 12 KDE 64Bit and current Kubuntu 12.04 LTS 64Bit show this problem.
I really want to play StarCraft 2 game(which I purchased) on my Linux.
Any help would be appreciated...

Blizzard game bug
The bug listed for StarCraft2 at
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21809 applies to several Blizzard
games, including the version of World of Warcraft that hit the live
servers this morning.
The latest posting I see on the bug report page was made sixteen days
ago and the bug is not listed as fixed or closed. Does anyone know what,
if any, version of Wine includes the fix for this

Blizzard Game Store Downloader doesn't work
I'm not really sure what the problem is or how to report it. It likely affects each individual game downloader application regardless of the game.
Anyway, the problem is that when you register a CD-Key or buy a digital copy of a game from the Blizzard store, they give you a P2P downloader app. Someone on the forums said it has some of your account information embedded in it to authorize

Petition to set warnPartialMatch* options to TRUE during R CMD check by default
Hi all,
What it says in the title. This is likely to cause a lot of CRAN packages
to fail (I can try and quantify this if seen fit), but I think it's for the
best. Packages should not (IMHO) be relying on partial matching in package
code / tests. One might be more permissive for vignette/examples code,
though I still find it poor practice.
Among many reasons why package authors should resist
