FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 / BIG Theora testing / BUG in players or Lib
I tested the new FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 and some players. 1. Biggest bug: http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/temp/push5tru.zi7 encodes into http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/temp/push5tru.ogv the problem: it doesn't play well. MPLAYER reacts very badly, reports "invalid frames" and HANGS (known issue ???). But in VLC there is also a problem, less severe:

[OT-ish] WebM/Ogg VP8 streaming
Hi all, Sorry for the VP8 question on the Theora list, but I think all the relevant people are here :) I'm using Icecast to distribute some Ogg Theora streams at the moment with a view to adding VP8 along side these in future. Ideally I'd just use Ogg VP8+Vorbis, I know there is a mapping for this already but how much support from the browsers can I expect for this configuration?

SPEEX and OPUS questions and minor issues
I recently stumbled upon <speex/speex_resampler.h> and made a chain of discoveries: - "http://speex.org/downloads" some links are broken ("rarewares" and git) - there is some (minor) development (whitespace and more) of the "dead" Speex codec ... will there be a release? (I don't really need such myself) - there is some (more useful?) development of the

It isn't available for now: format not frozen, no support in MP/ME, in FFMPEG it doesn't work :-( I doubt that Theora-lossless would be doable/useful ... maybe

Ogv file only plays in VLC / Can't be used by most tools.
Hi, I'm new here - thanks for having me. (Sorry if I'm in the wrong place or a noob.) I downloaded the Theora encoder sample (ver 1.1.1), modified it to encode a sequence of bitmaps, and created an OGV file. The OGV file plays fine in the latest VLC (1.0.5), but I can't do much else with it: I tried uploading to YouTube, and the video just comes out really corrupt:

Python Playlist handler for ices
Old version of ices has python/perl playlist handler, I've seen yet shell script wrapper for the new ices, but no one speaks about python/perl handlers. Are these features planned to be reimplemented soon? I'm intrested in python handler, I've seen sources of old version but it doesn't seems so easy to implement by myself since the beaviour of python/perl handlers is different from

Request to an hpa-TFTP enhancement - convert '\' in filenames to '/'
Hello, I'm working on getting BartPE (normally a LiveCD of Windows XP) network booted by PXE from a Linux TFTPD server. Normally a M$ RIS server with Active Directory and stuff is necessary, but the basic filetransfers are all done by TFTP and SMB and can therefore be delivered by a Linux machine. I'm referring to this documentation http://oss.netfarm.it/guides/pxe.php how to do

HP Toolbox kills Samba
Hi, I've encountered the following problem at a client. The problem results in one or more of the smbd processing continuously grabbing more and more memory until the system runs out of memory or just becomes unusable due to a low memory condition. This error is extremely serious as the entire server is eventually brought down by one error. After debugging this error at the

I have an Asus A8V-MX motherboard with an AMD Athlong 64 X2 3800+ CPU and I'm trying to run powerd to keep it cooler/quieter/greener. I'm running -STABLE (6.1-RC) cvsup'ed a couple of days ago, with a kernel config that consists of the SMP sample plus an atapicam device. I'm loading the cpufreq.ko module in /boot/loader.conf. I've attached my dmesg output and sysctl -a
