Theora decoding problem on PowerPC
Hi,
I'm attempting to decode Theora videos on a PowerPC running a Linux
2.6.19 kernel. The version of GCC I'm cross-compiling from is 3.4.4.
The software versions I'm running are:
libogg-1.1.3
libpng-1.2.20
libtheora-1.0beta1
libvorbis-1.2.0
These are all the latest I was able to download.
Here's a back trace I got while running "dump_video" under

Bug in src/player_example.c
Hi
I've just started development on a streaming TV player using Theora as a real
time encoder.
The player currently uses the majority of code in src/player_example.c. I
discovered a bug which was preventing the player from working correctly, but
which only showed up in my player; it didn't seem to affect the original
player_example.
I've now found the cause, which is indeed a

player_example vs splayer
Speaking of portability and people more familiar with SDL:
The reason we have two example players for theora is that monty wrote
the original example around the OSS audio interface used on several free
unix-like operating systems, which immediately excludes win32 and MacOS,
even though it used SDL to display the frames. SDL also has audio
support, and is quite widely ported.

OggSplit 0.1.0
Hello again!
As promised, here's a completed package of OggSplit. It's configured
with autoconf and automake (use autogen.sh) and there are debian build
rules. In it's current state it's quite useable, although there are
certain internal things which could be improved (nothing critical
however).
There are of course bugs, so I encourage everyone to try breaking the

Ogg in MP4 file, Unexpected result from _vorbis_unpack_books
Hi.
I'm trying to implement Ogg/Vorbis support for the MPEG4IP project.
The goal is to support Ogg/Vorbis audio for MPEG-4 streaming.
So far I have managed to make the encoder save Ogg packets as an Audio
object in an .mp4 file. As a side effect, it can also save Ogg pages in
an .ogg file playable by xmms, but that's no big deal.
So what I'm doing is this. First the init part.

oggsplit, where should I throw it?
Hello all!
DISCLAIMER: this isn't directly connected to vorbis development, but
there's no mailing list dedicated to generic ogg-dev discussion.
I've written a small tool I call oggsplit to split physical ogg streams
into the logical ogg streams, either chained (i.e. undoing cat file1.ogg
file2.ogg > file3.ogg) or grouped (e.g. separating video and audio in a

Subject: Newbie q: decoupling vorbis from ogg
To: vorbis-dev@lists.xiph.org
Hi,
Sorry if this is a newbie question. I'm trying to write an OS X
AudioCodec for Vorbis using libvorbis. I'm confused about the
libvorbis dependency on libogg. I thought the vorbis spec didn't
require ogg as the container, but the

retrieving "instant" bitrate without vo_open?
ok, I'm aware that vo_open cant be used at the same time as other functions
such as ogg_sync_wrote, ogg_sync_pageout, ogg_stream_pagein,
ogg_stream_packetout and vorbis_synthesis_headerin. In order to get
information from the bitstream i've been using this method because it's fast
and doesn't require decoding of the stream. But, i can only retrieve the
average bitrate of

bitstream changes
ok now I see why we need another packet in the header. The first one is basically for ID purposes (theora_decode_header()). I've jammed my huffman trees in there but it sucks because I need them later on when I actually build the huffman tree structs (theora_decode_init, calls InitHuffmanSet()). At that point the original header packet is gone so I've been keeping it around in a buffer.

Stream "Saving" and Excerpting...
I'm working with a streaming Ogg Vorbis system where I'm taking the stream
output (from a darkice server) and saving it to hour-long files, then
reassembling excerpts from these files (sometimes spanning two or three)
into a single file for playback.
I've got two problems (well, related to this, but anyway).
1) The "chunk" files I'm saving into have mangled headers.

Theora integration question
Hello, I am programmer working on a product which integrates Theora. I have
a question regarding the memory use on some of the internals of Theora. Is
this the right forum for this question, and if not, does anyone know where
an appropriate place to ask is?
Thanks
Sam

Am I missing something?
Hey all,
If my understanding is right, there's a serious big in vorbisfile.c, in
the routine _fetch_headers(), which will only show up when comment
packet spans multiple pages. The code to read the first 3 Vorbis
packets ogg_stream_pagein() once, then calls ogg_stream_packetout().
The problem is that ogg_stream_pagein() only adds a single page to the
ogg stream state, whereas

transcoding to theora from quicktime using xiphqt
Hi,
I'm trying to convert some quicktime files into Ogg/Theora using the
Xiph QuickTime Components version 1.8.
The end goal is to stream these files using apache httpd and the cortado
applet (and hopefully the embedded players that will be in Firefox
soon).
Using iMovie DV on OS X 10.4.11 (intel) I'm able to export as an ogg
movie, however the resultant file has problems with audio on

How to split an Ogg Vorbis stream?
I looked through the archives and I didn't really seem to find the answer
to what my question.
I used wget to get an audio stream from a site and now I would like to be
able to split up the stream into the individual songs. The site is nice
enough to encode the artist and track name in each new song. This info is
displayed in Winamp when the song plays. Doing an xxd dump of the file I

Add vorbis_dsp_init() ?
Hi,
This mozilla bug report is a crash triggered by a Vorbis file with
corrupt headers:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481601
The patch to fix the crash adds a new vorbis_dsp_init() function to
libvorbis, and calls
that from fs_vorbis_init() in libfishsound:
https://bug481601.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=366150
The public function it adds is:

theora_decode_header
Hello,
I am using theora in an application, but it does not work, I was looking
to know why, and since I have one application using theora, I checked
the difference between the two executions.
And it seems that the function *_theora_decode_header_* does not have
the same issue in the two application, but I read the same file...
the difference is on the _m_theoraInfo_, in the first application
