[TableGen] What to do if there are overlapping instruction patterns?
I've been working on adding support for a (semi-proprietary) extension for PowerPC called "Paired-Singles". It's a SIMD instruction set supporting various operations on a vector of 2 32-bit floating point numbers. The Extension is found in the PowerPC 750CL, modified variants of it are used in the Nintendo GameCube (Gekko), the Nintendo Wii (Broadway) and the Nintendo Wii U

Linux/Asterisk on game consoles?
Hello I don't know much about game consoles, and I was wondering if someone had successfully ported Linux and Asterisk to the current hardware, ie. Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, or Microsoft XBox360? Thank you.

Help with Wine and running exe w/ possible malware?
An exe file that I want to run on linux made for windows comes up as a Trojan on VirusTotal - how would I run it without it affecting my system? Is there any way that I can run this program on my Linux system without possibly getting a virus? Other people have told me that it would affect your wine prefix located normally inside ~/.wine and that any program running inside a wine prefix has only

Ready for real use?
Hi all, I've been following Theora's progress for a while as the company I work for is looking at replacing the use of the MPEG1 codec with a royalty free alternative. I have evaluated Theora and I think in its current state it is quite close to doing to job as oppose to Dirac which still has a very long way to go. What I would like to ask is how far from 1.0 is Theora? I see periodic

winamp plugin that relies on external dll
Well there is this winamp plugin to play Super Nintendo sound files (*.SPC) and it doesn't run because it relies on a DLL that it sticks in the windows/system dir called SNESAPU.DLL (c:\windows\system\SNESAPU.DLL) Of course, it says it can't find the dll... is there any way for me to tell WINE where it is?

Especially would be interesting to know about * planned features for PS3 Cell processor -- as well as for Wii, Xbox360 CPUs * multithreading in general * possibly coming changes in major versioning and related issues * other interesting featuring comments on current status to above listed items are also

Nintendo DS emulator randomly crashing
Hi. After playing NO$Zoomer (the emulator's name) for some time I'm getting random crashes that come out of the blue, which are not so usual, but since the emulator doesn't support savestates they're annoying. I'm playing and suddenly it freezes and, after aprox 2 minutes it says the program found a problem and must close (crash). Here's the Wine log: Code:

Question on interoperability with Nouveau
Hi guys again. A homebrew developer (homebrew is custom software made for the switch using openGL under nouveau) reported to me that 'glGenerateMipmap' wasn't working on yuzu (Nintendo Switch emulator). I looked into it and I noticed all the triangle data used by nouveau to render the mipmaps was all zeroed out, meaning that probably we don't implement the mechanism you guys use to

Problems plotting time-series with multiple lines
Dear Sirs, I want to plot a time series with lines, one for each variable. I have a dataset with dates, and the values. How can i plot? I could plot one variable using index plot, bu i want to put the labels on X axis. But i had two problems: 1) The plot function, when i try to plot(x,y), incorectly sort the date (on X axis). My dataset has the date in string format "%d/%m/%Y). If i try to

Block Coding Pattern
Hi, There seem to be 2 sets of block coding patterns in the VP3x/Theora algorithm. Based on the comments in the code, the first pattern is used if encoder version < 6 and the second pattern is used in encoder version >= 6. None of the code to support the second pattern is ever called. Is there an encoder with a version >= 6? The code in question is

dead DCSearchPoints code
Dan, In reviewing the code, derf came across the DCSearchPoints array in QuadCodeDisplayFragments(), encode.c:696. It looks like it specifies a search order for nearby coded fragments for prediction if there isn't a nearest neighbor. However, the upper search bound is defined as *0*, so the search loop (line 917) is never executed and it always falls back to the last coded fragment.

theora encoder reordering, order of puting data from DCT 8x8 blocks to huffman compressor, and puting result of huffman compressor to buffer bitstream memory
Good day! I'm creating HDL IP CORE (for using in FPGA) for theora encoder (now only I-frames). I don't undestand one moment. Now i develop such stages: 1. From RBG(byer) to YCbCr converter 2. DCT processing (8x8 pixels blocks) 3. Quantizator of DCT coeff. 4. Zig-Zag of quantized DCT coeff. and now i have uresolved last stage of compression - how i must send 8x8 blocks to huffman

Proof of Concept
Hi, So it took a little while to get here but VP3 through ffmpeg is finally starting to achieve viewable results. It partially works right now. Keyframes only. And monochrome. Oh, and the picture is upside down (something I did not realize about VP3 until I let it fly just now). Anyway, here is a picture of ffmpeg's VP3 decoder in action using xine:

What's in a name?
Hi, Let's play a little game. Forget all you know, or think you know. Without any context at all, what does the following pattern make you think of? <p> X -> X X -> X | ^ v | X <- X X <- X | ^ v | X X -> X X | ^ | ^ v | v | X -> X
