promptClass misses methods
I've had repeated problems with promptClass missing methods, usually
telling me a class has no methods when it does.
In my current case, I've defined an S4 class "mspathCoefficients" with
a print method
setMethod("print", signature(x="mspathCoefficients"), function(x, ...)
{ # etc
The file promptClass creates has no methods in it.

printing coefficients with text
I want to print the coefficient estimates of a model in a way
as consistent with other output in R as possible. stats provides the
printCoefmat function for doing this, but there is one problem. I
have an additional piece of textual information I want to put on the
line with the other info on each coefficient.
The documentation for printCoefmat says the first argument must be
numeric, which

R CMD check ignores .Rbuildignore?
The contents of .Rbuildignore seems to affect
R CMD build
but not
R CMD check.
I'm using R 2.4.0 on Debian.
Is my understanding correct? And is there anything I can do about it?
In my case, some of the excluded files contain references to other
libraries, so linking fails under R CMD check. I realize I could add
the library to the build (with Makevars, I guess), but I do not want

?setGeneric garbled (PR#14153)
Full_Name: Ross Boylan

Some of the help for setGeneric seems to have been garbled. In the section
"Basic Use", 5th paragraph (where the example counts as a single line 3rd
paragraph) it says

PLC cpu performance badness
Hello all
Firstly thanks to everyone involved for creating CELT. It is really very
useful :-)
One of my targets is current generation Apple iPod with the fixed point
decoder (latest version from website, 0.9.1)
Based on my simple time-stamp based profiling of my running app it looks
like decoding a null buffer for PLC costs a lot more than decoding a normal
buffer. For example a standard

adding celt support to netjack some questions.
hi.
i am currently adding celt support to netjack.
very nice to see a free low-latency codec :)
i currently dont require robustness against packet loss,
because the sync code of netjack does not handle packet loss very
gracefully. how much bandwidth is wasted for this feature ?
is it sensible, to have the data downsampled berfore encoding , in
order to reduce bandwidth ? i suspect that just

Korg NanoKey under Wine
I have successfully installed/ran AudioMulch under Wine.
One quib, my MIDI interface is not showing up.
My first thought was to install the Windows driver under Wine, but it's the one .exe that wont let me root/Terminal it's permissions.
It's usually a class compliant plug/play device.
Any suggestions?

Opus vs. Vorbis
Hi all,
I've been looking at opus lately as a replacement to vorbis and it sure
seems to me that, at least on paper, it is the 'next generation'
streaming codec. Has anyone been using opus as a streaming codec to
Icecast? If so, how do the following general characteristics compare to
vorbis?
+ Quality
+ Latency
+ Bandwidth
+ Performance (on stream client and Icecast server)

Can Opus be used with a video-chat app?
Hi,
I am not a developer, but a musician. Can Opus be used in combination with any existing video-chat app to provide much better quality for the musical instrument sound transmission?
Many thanks,
Rustem

A new era in Radio! Don't miss The Experimental Beat! (fwd)
Hello,
Excuse the blatent self-promotion and certain degree of off-topicness, but
I thought people here might find this of interest.
We just recorded a radio show using Fideliphone (www.fideliphone.com)
which uses CELT. Not sure exactly which version but the most recent
release of Fideliphone was in May so it's probably not the most recent
version. Anyway it performed beautifully!

External authentification-module for listening to icecast2-streams?
Hi,
today we came across the idea of adding an external authentification-
module for listening to icecast2. There have recently been talks with
artists and music labels that they would like to receive "a small
fee" per listener to e.g. a concert streamed live over the internet.
What do you think of adding an external authentification-module so
that the user could listen to a stream

dumping to multiple files
Hello.
I intend to make a live streaming of a quite long multi-artist concert
( 8h or so). I also would like to dump the concert to a file(s).
For several reasons I would prefer to dump performance of every artist
to seperate file. Is it possible to somehow tell ices2 to switch dumping
from one file to another ( without interrupting a transmission of course ) ?
Or maybe

Rails: View specs and implicit parameters in link_to()
Hi all,
I''ve been cleaning up our routing file, and removed the default
map.connect ":controller/:action" route.
It''s thrown up a bunch of sloppy mistakes, which is great, but I also
think I''ve found a problem with the view specs.
We have a generic navbar partial which is rendered in the index page
of several different controllers. The navbar contains

Question
I own a recording studio. We do a weekly live concert broadcast to Facebook using Wirecast software. There is an internet radio station that uses icecast that wants to carry the audio from my broadcast live. I have no idea how to get the audio to them. I use Mac computers. Can someone help me with that.

ARM NEON optimization -- celt_fir()
Hi all,
This is Linfeng Zhang from Google. I'll work on ARM NEON optimization in the
next few months.
I'm submitting 2 patches in the following couple of emails, which have the new
created celt_fir_neon().
I revised celt_fir_c() to not pass in argument "mem" in Patch 1. If there are
concerns to this change, please let me know.
Many thanks to your comments.

[RFC PATCH v1 0/4] Enable aarch64 intrinsics/Ne10
Hi All,
Since I continue to base my work on top of Jonathan's patch,
and my previous Ne10 fft/ifft/mdct_forward/backward patches,
I thought it would be better to just post all new patches
as a patch series. Please let me know if anyone disagrees
with this approach.
You can see wip branch of all latest patches at

Patch cleaning up Opus x86 intrinsics configury
The attached patch cleans up Opus's x86 intrinsics configury.
It:
* Makes ?enable-intrinsics work with clang and other non-GCC compilers
* Enables RTCD for the floating-point-mode SSE code in Celt.
* Disables use of RTCD in cases where the compiler targets an instruction set by default.
* Enables the SSE4.1 Silk optimizations that apply to the common parts of Silk when Opus is built in

[RFC PATCH v1 0/5] aarch64: celt_pitch_xcorr: Fixed point series
Hi Timothy,
As I mentioned earlier [1], I now fixed compile issues
with fixed point and resubmitting the patch.
I also have new patch that does intrinsics optimizations
for celt_pitch_xcorr targetting aarch64.
You can find my latest work-in-progress branch at [2]
For reference, you can use the Ne10 pre-built libraries
at [3]
Note that I am working with Phil at ARM to get my patch at [4]
