[LLVMdev] llvm-mc build failure
Dear llvm, Recently (approximately a week ago) Clang and LLVM started to failed at building. Assuming it was my incompetence, I cleared everything and started witha fresh checkout (not that I changed it though). I am on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-Bit. And I configure and compile with CMake. The error message I get at approximatley 66% is as follows: Linking CXX executable ../../bin/llvm-mc

Undo/reverse zpool create
Hi, If I add an entire disk to a new pool by doing "zpool create", is this reversible? I.e. if there was data on that disk (e.g. it was the sole disk in a zpool in another system) can I get this back or is zpool create destructive? Joubert This message posted from opensolaris.org

[Bridge] Bridge performance problem
I need some help understanding a strange bridge performance problem I am seeing. Maybe I am making more out of this than I need to. I need your opinions. The setup: The first configuration is two machines connected via a cross over cable: Machine A <====> Machine B The second configuration is two machines with a Linux bridge between them: Machine A <===> Linux Bridge

[Bridge] SMP vs UNP performance
I was running a frame loss test the other day against an rhel4 smp kernel and a non-smp kernel. I noticed I was getting better numbers when I ran the non-smp kernel. I was surprised by that. Anyone have any insight into this? I am running this with e1000 dirvers. I also ran a test where I ran the smp kernel with hyper threading turned on and off. There, the frame loss numbers were worse when

[Bridge] skb timestamp set in bridge?
In 2.4, I relied on the skb->stamp to contain the timestamp of when the packet entered the bridge. In 2.6, I don't seem to be seeing this behaviour. Is this correct? If so, what is the best place for me to grab the timestamp of the packet entering the bridge. TIA. --joubert

lustre_rsync and verbose output of changed files?
Hi I need to back up a Lustre filesystem using TSM, and am trying to find a way to generate a list of changed files from the Lustre changelogs, so that I can pass this list to dsmc to backup only the specified files (rather than having TSM traverse the filesystem to scan for changes). It seems like one way to potentially do this, is to run lustre_rsync using the --dry-run option, and get a

Soft CPU lockup error?
Hi I am running Lustre 1.8.1 on Scientific Linux with OFED 1.5. I have been running successfully for a few months, but experienced a serious crash yesterday. Following this, I am able to mount the mgs/mdt and the osts. But, whenever I now try to mount the lustre filesystem on the clients, I get a soft lockup CPU error. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated! Kindest regards! Fourie

Popularity of R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Statistica, S-PLUS updated
Greetings, I've just put out the latest version of "The Popularity of Data Analysis Software" at http://r4stats.com/popularity. This update includes complete data for 2010, the addition of number of blogs for each software, more coverage of Statistica, and, where possible, measures regarding the implementations of the SAS Language: Carolina and the World Programming System (WPS).

[Bridge] setting STP values via brctl
I have been playing around with the STP settings of brctl and saw something strange. I was setting the hello time, so I executed the following: # brctl sethello br0 30 Then I had a look at the value that was set: # cat /sys/class/net/br0/bridge/hello_time 2999 Much bigger than expected. I started looking at the source. In the libbridge/libbridge_devif.c file of brctl, we have the following

samba 4.1.9 group share issues with nfsv4 acl
Dear list, I have a freebsd 10 server with a ZFS pool, where data is shared with samba. ZFS ACLs are compliant with NFSv4 ACL. ZFS acl mode and inherit are set to passthrough (not sure it's really relevant here). The server is a domain member, and "standard" file service works well. I had the same setup with samba 3.5, where I was able to have a single share for all groups, so I

[?]apply functions or for loop
Hello, First time posting to this mail list. I'd like to use R in the most efficient way. I'm accomplishing what I want, but feel there is a more R'ish way to do it. Just learning R. *My goal: get ranks of value across rows with row names and column names intact.* I'm guessing one of the [?]apply functions will do what I need, but I couldn't sort out which one (after a lot

Vermunt's LEM in R
I don't know of any R package that can match all the functionality of LEM eg fitting equality constraints to model parameters a la LISREL. WRT dumping tables, I would have thought that as.data.frame.table does pretty much what you want, [not tested] newtab <- as.data.frame(table(a,b,c)) cat("dim\n") for(i in seq(1, ncol(newtab)-1) { cat(nlevels(newtab[,1]," ") }

Rcmd check on windows (XP)
Hola! This is windows XP, rw1062. When running Rcmd check on a package, I get (among others) the message: ERROR: Environment text <enclosed in {}> found in \title{...}. The title must be plain text! but it does not mention in which .Rd file this error was found, so it was necessry to look through about 50 files. It would be usefull if the error message mentioned the file name. Kjetil

formula format for parameter estimation
Hello, I am trying to input the following formula into R for parameter estimation. I don't quite have the just of formula syntax. I understand simple basic regression (y ~ x), but how do I do the ff: y = ( b0*x )/(x + b1), where b0 and b1 are parameters that need to be solved. Any help/suggestions for a newbie would be much appreciated. thanks ./w Wayne Delport Molecular Ecology and
