dmvnorm masked by emdbook
I am using curve3d in the emdbook package to graph a gaussian copula density function generated via the copula package. Unfortunately, it appears that emdbook masks dmvnorm from the package mvtnorm in a way that prohibits copula from generating the gaussian copula. (Sounds very confusing!) For example, > library(copula) > f<-function(x,y) dcopula(normalCopula(0),c(x,y)) >

variable scope for deltavar function from emdbook
Dear all, I want to use the deltavar() function from emdbook. I can use it directly from the command terminal but within a function it behaves weird. Working example: ---------------------- library("emdbook") fn <- function() { browser() y <- 2 print(deltavar(y*b2, meanval=c(b2=3), Sigma=1) ) } x <- 2 print(deltavar(x*b1, meanval=c(b1=3), Sigma=1) ) y<-3 fn()

bbmle "Warning: optimization did not converge"
I am using the Ben bolker's R package "bbmle" to estimate the parameters of a binomial mixture distribution via Maximum Likelihood Method. For some data sets, I got the following warning messages: *Warning: optimization did not converge (code 1: ) There were 50 or more warnings (use warnings() to see the first 50)* Also, warnings() results the following: *In 0:(n - x) : numerical

Simulation functions for underdispered Poisson and binomial distributions
Dear R users I would like to simulate underdispersed Poisson and binomial distributions somehow. I know you can do this for overdispersed counterparts - using rnbinom() for Poisson and rbetabinom() for binomial. Could anyone share functions to do this? Or please share some tips for modifying existing functions to achieve this. Thank you very much for your help and time Shinichi

simultaneously maximizing two independent log likelihood functions using mle2
Hello, I have a log likelihood function that I was able to optimize using mle2. I have two years of the data used to fit the function and I would like to fit both years simultaneously to test if the model parameter estimates differ between years, using likelihood ratio tests and AIC. Can anyone give advice on how to do this? My likelihood functions are long so I'll use the tadpole

Hi all, I have some problems with the mle2 function > RogersIIbinom <- function(N0,attackR3_B,Th3_B) {N0-lambertW(attackR3_B*Th3_B*N0*exp(-attackR3_B*(24-Th3_B*N0)))/(attackR3_B*Th3_B)} > RogersII_B <- mle2(FR~dbinom(size=N0,prob=RogersIIbinom(N0,attackR3_B,Th3_B)/N0),start=list(attackR3_B=1.5,Th3_B=0.04),method="Nelder-Mead",data=dat) Error in dbinom(x, size, prob, log)

Creating a frequency table for binomial varaible
Hello, I have simulated 30 observations from a binomial(5,0.1) distribution. Now I need to make frequency table( that means I need to tally how many 0's , 1's 2's....... 5's) I know that the simple R function table() will do this, but I am afraid that some times I may get zero frequency for some particular values (for example in the above there are 5-0's 10-1's ,

Delta method using numerical derivatives
Dear all, Is there a fairly general R implementation of the delta method that uses numerical derivatives? I realise that the delta method has been implemented using symbolic derivatives (e.g. alr3::delta.method, emdbook::deltamethod, msm::deltamethod and survey:::nlcon), however possibly non-linear estimators using the delta method with numerical derivatives can be quite useful (e.g. predictnl

AstriDevCon 2014: Agenda item Deprecate AMI/AGI (Ben Klang)
Really? Shouldn?t something this major affecting the entire Asterisk community get discussed on the lists? Any idea what Leif is talking about when he says the community is in transition, moving from dial plan model to external control? Here?s a link to the notes posted on the Asterisk wiki: https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/AstriDevCon+2014

Asterisk on Ben NanoNote?
Hello I just read an article on the tiny Ben NanoNote: http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/Ben_NanoNote As CPU, it uses a "JZ4720 366 MHz MIPS compatible processor from Ingenic Semiconductor Co", and it runs Linux. Does someone know if Asterisk has been ported to that platform? Thank you.
