HP R12000/3 UPS reports status as OL DISCHRG OB
Hi.
Back before Christmas Arnaud sent me a patch for the snmp-ups driver for my HP R12000/3 UPS. Unfortunately shortly after I had to take quite a lot of sick leave so wasn't able to progress it, but I'm working on it again now.
I'm at the point where I can start the driver with upsdrvctl and start the daemon with upsd. When I check the UPS status though it shows as OL DISCHRG OB,

Hi!
Have a similar issue with one of our customers having HP R12000/3 UPS

Using win2k non-pdc as password server
Hi,
I'm trying to get Samba on a Linux box to work. Authentication via user
level worked fine, but what I really want is it to take user authentication from
a win2k box, which is our "primary local server". The win2k box is not a pdc,
(the real pdc is 2000km away, close to the polar circle), but according to
the docs it doesn't have to be.
So in smb.conf I put:

snmp-ups sends status "OL OB" on HP R3000 UPS with AF465A management card [UPDATE]
Further information on this issue, attn. Arnaud Quette:
Here is the result of a test I made a few days ago. I've pulled the
input plug on the UPS and watched the 3 critical OIDs through a MIB browser:
- 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.165.3.4.5.0 goes from 3 (OL) to 5 (OB)
(as expected => good)
- 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.165.3.7.3.0 stays at 1 (OB)
(=> seems meaningless)
- 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.165.3.7.4.0

Multiboot with isolinux
I used to use multiple syslinux floppy images to implement what I call
CD-ROM-multiboot (EL Torito supports up to 64 bootable images, Award
BIOS 8 images, if not wrey old). Now that floppies are getting too
small, I find that I must find a workaround for hard coded isolinux
directory name in isolinux. Not a big deal, but there might be also
others who would like to have multiboot feature.

SNMP on HP UPS
Hi,
I would like to contribute code to make the SNMP driver compatible with
HP's AF401A UPS module. It is also compatible with HP's older SNMP
modules.
It's just a new mib specification plus the necessary changes to
snmp-ups.c
Several sources have told me that these UPSs use the cpqpower.mib, but
comparing that mib at http://www.snmplink.org/cgi-bin/nd/m/Ent/H/Hewlett

HP R3000 XR (BCMXCP) serial connection problem: e7!!! and e2!!!
UPS: HP R3000 XR with HP UPS Management Module
What I Want:
I just want the UPS to shut down the client called "tor" before the UPS
power drains out, I'd prefer to use a direct serial cable instead of
network, in case the network doesn't work.
I'll manage the UPS trough the ethernet using the built-in HTTP
webinterface in the HP UPS Management Module.

We're working on it:

A quick check says that the implementation has been there since v2.6.4, and

This apparently implies that, unlike some docs say, the snmp-ups driver can send the shutdown signals (is not crippled by design)? ;)
Also, are those oids apc-private or commonly used/standard among snmp upses?

Fwd: [bug & patch] libstdc++ in linux_base-7.1_3
Hey guys, hope you don't mind this forward email, because I have been
reading the 'flashpluginwrapper problem.' subject. The bug is in the
linux_base, but nobody seem to check on this in the freebsd-ports. Looks
like Brandon D. Valentine might needs to create a PR to get the better
attention and keep the track.
Cheers,

CPQPOWER-MIB - nearly there
I have attempted to create cpqpowermib.h for the snmp-ups driver. We use
HP UPSs and version 2 of the firmware for their AF401A management cards
use the CPQPOWER-MIB.
I have attached my current attempt (which builds and almost works
against nut 2.4.1). Once all is working I'll send in the finished
article for consideration. This file is based on ietfmib.h.

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles,
That package is supposed to install both server and client (according to
the description at https://packages.debian.org/stretch/nut anyway). I'll
try both server and client individually later and see if that helps.
Cheers,
