epi.2by2
This is a really simple question, I'm sure,but I can't make EpiR work! I keep getting the following: > epi.2by2(47, 263483, 282, 935028, method="cohort.time", conf.level=0.95) Error in epi.2by2(47, 263483, 282, 935028, method = "cohort.time", conf.level = 0.95) : unused argument(s) (935028) and I really don't know why!. Any ideas very very welcome thank

Efficient ways of finding functions and Breslow-Day test for homogeneity of the odds ratio
Dear all, I have been trying to find a function to calculate the Breslow-Day test for homogeneity of the odds ratio in R. I know the test can be preformed in SAS but i was wondering if anyone could help me to perform this in r. In addition i have the fullrefman file to search for functions in the basic R packages, does anyone have any suggestions of an efficient way of searching for

Breslow Day Test
Breslow-Day test A statistical test for the homogeneity of odds ratios. Homogeneity In <javascript:void(0);> systematic reviews homogeneity refers to the degree to which the results of studies included in a review are similar. "Clinical homogeneity" means that, in studies included in a review, the participants, interventions and outcome measures are similar or comparable.

"vcov" error in svyby and svytable functions
Hi, I'm trying to compute survey svytable statistic on subsets by using the svyby function. Here is the code: b<-svyby(~V024+V751, by=~V025, design=strat2, svytable, round=TRUE) The vars, V024, V751 and V025 are factors. The by var has 2 levels, and hence there will be two subsets. strat2 is created by the svydesign function. It's giving me the following error: >

Breslow-Day test
Dear R Users, I'm looking for a package that allows to test hypothesis about a homogeneity of odds ratio in k 2x2 tables. I know that Breslow-Day is suitable but does anybody could me point out a package? I found diffR, but as far as I see this package is for IRT theory. Best, Robert

svytable including NAs
Dear all I'm creating two way tables based on weighted survey data using svytable and want to include NAs as a level in the table. For unweighted data I use table(..., useNA="ifany"). Is there any equivalent for svytable? If not, is there a solution using a different function? Thanks Tim -- Tim Elwell-Sutton The University of Hong Kong Office: 3906 2053 Mob: 6084 5654

svytable and na's
hi, i am trying to work with the survey package in order to apply survey design weights. the data set i am using - ess - contains missing values. my question: when using svytable(~variable1+variable2, design=my.svydesign.object, na.rm=T) the resulting crosstable contains all missings although i defined the na's as such. any ideas??? thanks a lot, katharina

Sample size - proportion continuity correction
Hallo! Does anybody know how to calculate a sample size estimation for proportions with continuity correction? ? I only found EpiR which seems to calculate without continuity correction: library(epiR) epi.studysize(treat = .65, control = .50, n = NA, sigma = NA, power = 0.80, r = 1, conf.level = 0.95, sided.test = 2, method = "cohort") $n [1] 340 Thanks! Making Gehan-Breslow test for Survival data
Hi all, The survivals functions can be tested by the Log-rank test and others, for example the Gehan-Breslow. The graham breslow work with the alpha values. But I don't know how is the Gehan-Breslow test with R. Somebody know a type function?.. or other suggestions? Any help will be really appreciated Jos? concordance correlation coefficient using R
Hi. I have data which i would want to assess the degree of agreement between two assays, e.g., to evaluate reproducibility or for inter-rater reliability. I have used the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. It looks good ranginging between 0.90 to 0.998. Though this looks good. I am told the Concordance correlation coefficient will give a better picture of how reproducible the assay

breslow estimator for cumulative hazard function
Dear R-users, I am checking the proportional hazard assumption of a cox model for a given covariate, let say Z1, after adjusting for other relavent covariates in the model. To this end, I fitted cox model stratified on the discrete values of Z1 and try to get beslow estimator for the baseline cumulative hazard function (H(t)) in each stratum. As far as i know, if the proportionality assumption

Ordinal Mantel-Haenszel type inference
Hello, I am searching for an R-Package that does an exentsion of the Mantel-Haenszel test for ordinal data as described in Liu and Agresti (1996) "A Mantel-Haenszel type inference for cummulative odds ratios". in Biometrics. I see packages such as Epi that perform it for binary data and derives a varaince for it using the Robbins and Breslow variance method. As well as another pacakge

Struggeling with svydesign()
Dear all, We are analysing some survey data and we are not sure if we are using the correct syntax for our design. The population of interest is a set of 4416 polygons with different sizes ranging from 0.003 to 45.6 ha, 7460 ha in total. Each polygon has a binary attribute (presence/absence) and we want to estimate the probability of presence in the population. We used sampling with replacement

"object not found" within function
Hi, I am trying to write a function to compute many cross-tabulations with the -svytable- command. Here is a simplified example of the structure of my code (adapted from the -svytable- help file): data(api) func.example<-function(variable){ dclus1<-svydesign(id=~1, weights=~pw,data=apiclus1, fpc=~fpc) svytable(~ variable, dclus1) } When I call this function with:

R 2.0.0: namespaces, S4 classes & versioned package installation: failure to resolve correct pkg version
Hi, further down from the problem I asked about yesterday I encounter the following problem (please appologize for the lengthy mail - I have not found a brief example making the issue clear): - using R packages making use of namespaces & - S4 classes when using --with-package-versions in the install call: Pkgs install ok and the first pkg 'base' can be loaded in R
