VisualHostKey vs. RekeyLimit vs. VerifyHostKeyDNS
Hello list, I'm not sure whether this is bug worthy or just my own insanity. I'm using 6.4p1 packages from Debian jessie and wheezy-backports. I like VisualHostKey, although it may not add any protection (other than not trusting ones own known_hosts file?), I've become accustomed to it as it seems that extra neurons fire when I log into a host and get a visual cue of what looks like

specific Host not overriding global Host
My config file contains Host * VisualHostKey yes Host app VisualHostKey no however when I ssh into app I still see the VisualHostKey. It is my understanding that the more specific host should override the global defaults. When I asked on IRC they told me to report the issue to this mailing list. I know my version of OpenSSH is old, but I checked bugzilla and did not see any bug reports about

problem with step-Function
Dear R-community The following loops produce the error message: Error in round(x, digits) : Non-numeric argument to mathematical function after performing the outer loop 6 times Splus can execute these loops but is very much slower than R . Interestingly, if the scale-argument in the step-function is omitted R performes these loops a few times more. What could be the reason for that error? Any

prediction from glm
Hello r-help, I try to fit birds counts over years using glm. I have done (with Estate and year as factors): Model1 <- glm(Females~Estate+Year+offset = log(area)), family = quasipoisson(link = log), na.action = "na.exclude") After I have calculated the prediction using: Pred1 <- predict(Model1, type = "response", na.action = "na.exclude") My question

Several people already reported this at linux-kernel and elsewhere with no answers, I thought perhaps this would be a more adequate forum... choice of fingerprint display upon new host access
When a user encounters a new ssh host, the VisualHostKey option makes ssh display the visual fingerprint of the host's key. ssh-keygen also supports BubbleBabble fingerprinting, but i don't see a way to indicate that ssh should display the bubblebabble fingerprint upon encountering a new host key. It seems like it would be nice to make OpenSSH configurable about its choice of

PROBLEM: Filesystem became readonly, then kernel crashes on shutdown
Hi All, I just had "an issue" with my Linux 2.6.1 kernel. While working, I tried to rf -rf a directory, and was told my filesystem was mounted readonly (which it wasn't). I then shut the machine down, and on shutdown, I got a "kernel BUG at fs/ext3/super.c: 411". Full report below: Mike [1.] One line summary of the problem: Filesystem became readonly, then
