[Nouveau] [Bug 42672] New: NMI SERR with 2 Geforce 310 cards
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42672
Bug #: 42672
Summary: NMI SERR with 2 Geforce 310 cards
Classification: Unclassified
Product: xorg
Version: 7.7 (2011)
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/nouveau
AssignedTo: nouveau at lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: nick at usenix.org
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
Created attachment 53251

dmesg output
See also https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751242
Description of problem:
I have a new install of Fedora 16 on an x86_64 platform with two Nvidia Geforce
310 cards (the goal is to have three or four displays under X). On boot, I get
[ 2.765825] NMI: PCI system error (SERR) for reason b1 on CPU 0.
[ 2.765825] Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
and the second card stops working at that point. The NMI occurs while nouveau
and drm are initializing. dmesg log attached.
I suspect that this is a simple user error, but cannot find any guidance.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Kernel 3.1.0-5.fc16.x86_64
How reproducible:
Every boot
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install 2 Geforce 310 cards
2. Boot!
3.
Actual results:

It appears that this bug report has laid dormant for quite a while. Sorry we
haven't gotten to it. Since we fix bugs all the time, chances are pretty
good
that your issue has been fixed with the latest software. Please give it a shot.
(Linux kernel 3.10.7, xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.9, mesa 9.1.6, or their git
versions.) If upgrading to the latest isn't an option for you, your
distro's
bugzilla is probably the right destination for your bug report.
In an effort to clean up our bug list, we're pre-emptively closing all bugs
that haven't seen updates since 2011. If the original issue remains, please
make sure to provide fresh info, see http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Bugs/
for what we need to see, and re-open this one.
Thanks,
The Nouveau Team
