Not able to mount ocfs2 volume on remote node
Hi,
I have installed and configured ocfs2 as per the given guidelines on two

The output of the service status of o2cb and ocfs2 is as under:

Possible hint for "Clocksource tsc unstable" problem
Hello,
I made an interesting observation related to the "Clocksource tsc
unstable (delta = -2999660320319 ns)" problem. In the log of ntpd I found:

prevalence in logistic regression lrm()
Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to specify the prevalence of events in logistic regression using lrm() from Design package? Linear Discriminant Analysis using lda() from MASS library has an argument "prior=" that we can use to specify the prevalent of events when the actual dataset being analyzed does not have a representative prevalence. How can we incorporate this information in

actuarial prevalence plots
Hi all,
I am trying to produce a series of plots showing the prevalence of a
condition, which is subject to censoring. In most cases the condition is
temporary and resolves with time. I would like to use the method of Pepe
et al Stat Med 1991; 413-421 - essentially the prevalence is the
Kaplan-Meier prob[having the condition at time t] - KM prob[recovery by
time t] (also divided by 1-KM[death by

regexp problem on R 1.7.0
Hi,
Am I missing something in using regexps in R?
Below, 'egrep' means invokation of the command from the shell
prompt.
# I have
> as.character(block.dist.vals)
[1] "1e+06" "2e+06" "5e+06"
# that I wish to convert to: "1" "2" "5"
# OK (R and egrep)
> sub( "e.+06", "", as.character(block.dist.vals) )

Cox regression for prevalence estimates
Hello, I'm an MD working in an eye clinic. I'm learning by myself to use R
for use in my research works and for implementation in a software project.
There are some authors who recomends the use of Cox regression as a
substitute for Logistic regression (<a

Vanishing facts
Hello all,
I am running puppet 2.7.1 with mongrel and an apache proxy. I have been
seeing an issue where it appears that the puppetmaster is completely
ignoring any facts that are sent to it.
When a client connects, any configuration that relies on facts shows
those variables as being empty strings. (I have been testing this with
a simple notify resource that prints out the IP address and the

Wherefore SELinux?
I've tried to wrap my head around SELinux several times, and so far, all I've
managed to do is rap my head, and then somewhat painfully.
Is there a detailed "SELinux Unleashed" style book anybody can recommend?
Anybody read Oreilly's book care to comment?

Bayesian estimate of prevalence with an imperfect test
Hi all!
I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if I don't conform perfectly to
the protocols on this board!
I'm trying to get an estimate of true prevalence based upon results from an
imperfect test. I have various estimates of se/sp which could inform my
priors (at least upper and lower limits even if with a uniform distribution)
and found the following code on this website..

Educational institutions: Your Asterisk experiences wanted!
Hello!
I've been asked to get a show of hands for some analysts for users
in Higher Ed - Universities, Colleges, or any other 2 or 4 year degree-
granting institutions. If this fits you, please let me know your
contact data and briefly how you're using Asterisk, and if you don't
mind I can pass your contact data along (for consumption by humans

``You do not want to overbuild your security or you will interfere
with the detection side, and detection is one of the single most
important aspects of any security mechanism. For example, it makes
little sense to set the schg flag (see chflags(1)) on every system

prevents an attacker who has broken in from making an easily

C vs. C++ as learning and development tool for R
I have 3 years of experience with R and have an interest in becoming a
better programmer so that I might someday be able to contribute
packages. Other than R, my only experience was taking Lisp from Daniel
Friedman in the 1970's. I would like to learn either C or C++ for
several reasons:
To gain a better concept of object oriented programming so that I can
begin to use S4 methods in R.

How to 'stamp' a plot with meta-data?
Dear R users,
Sometimes, for tracking purposes, I am interested to add to a
plot some metadata such as
* the date it was produced
* filename that stores the plot
* perhaps data sources, author, etc
Ideally, I would like to be able to do this for any kind of plot,
plot(), barplot(), hist(), etc.; and, to be able to produce
plots with or without the metadata by a simple toggle mechanism.

automatic gain control
>Fromwhat you describe, your comp/limiter can't possibly be working
correctly. It should be the last unit in line before the sound card, and
needs to be adjusted properly. You also need to balance the levels on your
mixing board (so that the correc t level comes at predictable place on the
slider). It might be worthwhile to find someone with some sound-mixing or
radio engineering experience

sorta-newbie: installing 2.2.6 rpm with --nodeps on RedHat 7.2 ?
I have samba (server-only) running on a server with a stock RedHat 7.2 'server' install and am trying to upgrade Samba to 2.2.6-1.i386. I get the following dependency failures when trying to "rpm -ivh samba-2.2.6-1.i386.rpm":
libncurses.so.4 is needed by samba-2.2.6-1
libreadline.so.3 is needed by samba-2.2.6-1
ncurses4-5.0-4.i386.rpm and ncurses-5.2-12.i386.rpm is already

Run the signal through a Compressor/Limiter before sending it to your
soundcard. I use Behringer Ultra-Dyne Pro DSP9024. Very nice. If you
want to buy it look here:

Chroot patch (v3.4p1)
The following is a patch I've been working on to support a "ChrootUser"
option in the sshd_config file.
I was looking for a way to offer sftp access and at the same time restict
interactive shell access. This patch is a necessary first step (IMO).
It applies clean with 'patch -l'.
Also attached is a shell script that helps to build a chrooted home dir on
a RedHat 7.2
