[PATCH server] Update app to work with rails 2.3.2
Note that this does not fix gettext for app, that will be done separately in another patch as F10/F11 require different setups for that. In the meantime gettext works if manually changed in environment.rb to gettext_rails instead of gettext/rails Signed-off-by: Jason Guiditta <jason.guiditt at gmail.com> --- src/app/controllers/application.rb | 200 --------

Disabling anchor clicking in a draggable
Hey guys I have an interesting problem - I have some draggable elements (sortable actually), with links (<A>) inside them. I want the user to be able to click on the link, however if the user drags the element I don''t want the link to get fired. Can anyone think of a way to do this? It only needs to work in Firefox. Cheers -Rob

script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1 released
Heya, I''ve just released script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1. Please give it a try! Important new stuff (since V1.1b1): * Added a main scriptaculous.js file to load in the other libraries transparently. * Fixed a condition where standard a href=xxx links wouldn''t work in autocomplete results. These do now, the onclick event is not cancelled. [thx to Jasper Slits] * Added

question about Effect.Highlight and IE 5.5
I''ve recently begun testing some of the scriptaculous functionality in IE 5.5, since my company wants me to support as many browsers as possible. When I do an Effect.Highlight on a <tr>, it doesn''t quite work right. I''ve figured out a few things, but I''m not sure whether you want to change them or not. Here''s what I know: In

droppables
I am not sure how many of you are using draggables/droppables but I thought I would do some experimentation and try and learn how to use them on my own. Well, I have draggables, and I have droppables. I do have one question for now. The droppable onDrop event seems to pass in 2 objects, the dropped object, and the container the object was dropped on. My question is this, can I figure

Autocomplete Error w/Version 1.5_pre4
I recently updated to version 1.5_pre4 to use the excellent in-place editor, however, I''m now seeing a bug with AutoCompletion. When text is entered in the text field for auto completion, the auto_complete div is not updated (but the server does receive the request and return a response). Upon removing focus from the text field, 2 instances of the following error can be seen in both

reloading fragments of pages
Hello, I have a treeview, that works with scriptaculous in order to load the nodes dynamically. I also have in the main part of the page, a table with the list of elements. The lists of elements can be drag-dropped on the treeview in order to move them around (they are also draggable on other parts of the page) I need though, to refresh the treeview to reflect changes when a folder was moved

Sortable > how to know wich elementID was dropped ?
Maybe a newb question, maybe not. It''s not well documented, and I want to know how to know the id of my newly dropped item. The usage, would be to attach the newly dropped id to its *new* parent in a DB. Thanks. ???????????????????????? http://www.samueldr.com http://www.hostingquebec.ca

[PATCH] Effect.Accordion (not from the wiki)
Hello boys and girls In the ever-loving spirit of OSS, here''s another feature for s.a.u. In particular it''s called Effect.Accordion, and is a scriptaculified version of openrico''s Accordion. Work in progress, I''ll submit further modifications as the come in, but this is 90% of what needs to be done. I anticipate some bugs when I start using it more. Tested

Question abour Draggables & Droppables
Hi, What I need to know is how to change revert:true to revert:false from a draggable after I drop it on a droppable so it doesn''t return to its original place. Something like: [CODE] <!-- Draggable image --> <img alt="Product" id="item" src="icon.png"> <script type="text/javascript"> new

The Autocompleter, with scrollable result-div
Hi everyone If you''ve seen this ticket, http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4782, you''ve noticed I have tried to make scrollable autocompleter work. The scrollIntoView works great, however the iframefix for IE didnt work in the previous change. This is fixed now. Also the "blur-on-scrollbar-click" should not work in both IE and Safari (can someone confirm this?) It all

AJAX Drag and Drop Detecting Drop Coordinates
This one''s kicking me in the *(&#^. All I want to do is create a draggable item and then detect the coordinates where it is dropped. So my first approach was to just use the draggable_element with :revert => false, like so: <%= draggable_element "my_element", :revert => false %> That works great and lets me drag stuff all over the place. In the scriptaculous

drag and drop problem
I am working on a resource planning problem. I like to use a nice drag and drop interface for that. E.g. have a box of persons and a box of projects, now I would like to assign a persom to project by dragging it from the available resources box to a recieving project box. I have studied the amazing drag and drop shopping card code listed here http://demo.script.aculo.us/shop What I need to

how do you give focus to a form field?
When you put up a page with a form on it and the top item is a text field it would be nice to have that field already focused instead of forcing the user to click in it before they start typing. Is there a rails (i.e. probably Prototype) way of giving focus to a field? I did some searching and found nothing. thanks, jp P.S. I''m on a Mac. Perhaps a winoze and/or unix automatically

getDimensions() fails for elements with ancestors with display: none
Prototype v1.6.0.2 If any of an element''s ancestors are hidden, Element.getDimensions() returns misleading values. In order to address this in my own project, I made the following modification: getDimensions: function(element) { element = $(element); var display = element.getStyle(''display''); + var hiddenAncestor = element.ancestors().any(function(e) {

Tabulation with ENTER key
Dear all, I think this can be interesting for others too. For a while I tried to solve that problem - how to tabulate with ENTER/RETURN key too and not only with TAB. You know the problem - you are entering a lot of numbers from numeric keypad but you need to go far left to press TAB. This prevents one-hand data entry and prohibits web apps to be used by accountants, for instance. Here is a
