Interdomain trust with different WINS servers
Hi I am trying to stablish a relation between two different Samba domains. Each domain has two PDCs, all they are WINS servers, and the two domains are in different subnets. They are configured to use LDAP as the user/group/machine database. First, I will create the relation, being DOM1.CORP the trusted domain, and DOM2.CORP the trusting domain, so in a server of DOM1.CORP, I create a user this

How to get mode in case of discrete or categorial data
Dear all, in a previuos message was asked how get the mode of continous distribution. Now I'm asking if there an R function to obtain the mode in case of a discrete distribution or categorial data. The only way is to use table(): > x<-rep(1:5,100) > s<-sample(x,40) > t<-table(s) > t s 1 2 3 4 5 13 10 5 4 8 the mode is value=1 Thanks Cordially Vito =====

t-test
I have downloaded the latest version of R and continue to have the same problem I did with the previuos version which is that I am unable to run a two-sample t-test in R-commander. I can run a paired t-test and a one sample t-test but not a two-sample t-test or one factor ANOVA. The data have been both imported and entered directly into R-cmdr and I can run regressions and basic data summaries on

Combine matrix
Hi R user, I am new to R, and I have a very simple question for you. I have two matrix A and B, with internally redundant rownames (but variables are different). Some, but not all the rownames are shared among the two matrix. I want to create a greater matrix that combines the previuos two, and has all the possible combinations of matching rownames lines among matrix A and B. looking for the

I set up ocfs and i'm not able to make it to work. /etc/init.d/o2cb status: Module "configfs": Loaded Filesystem "configfs": Mounted Module

Generate positive definite matrix with constraints
Hi, I have a question for my simulation problem: I would like to generate a positive (or semi def positive) covariance matrix, non singular, in wich the spectral decomposition returns me the same values for all dimensions but differs only in eigenvectors. Ex. sigma [,1] [,2] [1,] 5.05 4.95 [2,] 4.95 5.05 > eigen(sigma) $values [1] 10.0 0.1 $vectors [,1]

Value of SET_STRING_ELT() must be a 'CHARSXP' not a 'character' & 'getEncChar' must be called on a CHARSXP
Hello, I have list of 600K lists, each sublist a list of two elements, the first a character, the second a list of six named elements, some characters some numrics. LISTA (600K) (:= h) |__ List of two elements |__ Character |__ Named List of 6 elements (characters and numerics) This works, sip <- lapply(h,function(r) r[[2]][['sip']]) but I wish to unlist this

RedHat Samba 2.2.7a-8.9.0 RPM complete?
Does anyone have information or know how I can find out what option this rpm was built with? ie with winbind on... I still seem to be having odd winbind / samba / acl problems (cannot get perms. modified via a Win2k station to stick). Regards, Matt Twigg

Rd parser throws error for user macros invoked with empty argument
Bug or feature? I get the following error from parse_Rd() when a user Rd macro (including system ones) is invoked with empty argument {}, eg \mymacro{}: Error in tools::parse_Rd(fn) : Value of SET_STRING_ELT() must be a 'CHARSXP' not a 'NULL' A full example is further below with the system macro \CRANpkg{}. In this example it doesn't make sense to use empty argument but

Read a text file into R with .Call()
Hi, I want to read a text file into R with .Call(). So I define some NEW_CHARACTER() to store the chracters read and use SET_STRING_ELT to fill the elements. e.g. PROTECT(qNames = NEW_CHARACTER(10000)); char *foo; // This foo holds the string I want. while(foo = readLine(FN)){ SET_STRING_ELT(qNames, i, mkChar(foo))); } In this way, I can get the desired character from qNames. The only problem

Rd parser throws error for user macros invoked with empty argument
While on the topic of Rd macro arguments, it seems that if a multiline argument is supplied, the lines after the first are silently ignored: f <- tempfile() mac6 <- "\\newcommand{\\mac6}{mac6: #1}" cat(mac6, "\\mac6{2*3 2+2 sin(pi) }\n", file = f) rd <- tools::parse_Rd(f) > rd mac6: 2*3 --- Georgi Boshnakov -----Original Message----- From: Tomas Kalibera

best methods for strings and structures?
I'm trying to generate an R interface for a library that's commonly used and I'm currently writing wrapper functions for file i/o and return an object (list?) that contains the elements of the C structure. For example, reading a file that contains: struct CONFIG_RECORD { char coeffs_filename[256]; char species_filename[256]; unsigned long

Rd parser throws error for user macros invoked with empty argument
Thanks for the report and the examples - and they do not have to be that verbose, it is enough to just define and use a command, e.g. cat("\\newcommand{\\mac1}{MAC1:#1}\\mac1{}", file=f) rd <- tools::parse_Rd(f) Whenever you get an error message like "Value of SET_STRING_ELT() must be a 'CHARSXP' not a 'NULL'", there is a bug (at least the error message

sshd files to start with "PRNG is not seeded" error
Hello All, This is regarding a sshd problem. In our system we use ocrandom (a random number generator) to fill in the device /dev/urandom from which sshd reads the randomness for seeding. In a situation we stop the ocrandom and sshd. Now as usual we start the ocrandom first and then sshd. We get an error "PRNG is not seeded" while starting sshd. When we start the sshd for the second

Activity after LU with ZFS/Zone working
Hy all, recently I upgraded to S10U8 a T5120 using LU. The system had a zones configured and at time of upgrade procedure the zones was still alive and worked fine. The LU procedure was ended successfully. Zones on the system was installed in a ZFS filesystem. Here the result at the end of LU (ABE-from: s10Aug2007, ABE-to: s10Set2009): # zfs list NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
