OpenSSH 4.4p1 under Mac OS X 10.3.9
Hi there, I've run into a strange problem. I have just finished building OpenSSH 4.4p1 against openssl 0.9.8d under Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.7. Both were installed as updates to OpenSSH 4.3p2/openssl 0.9.8c (not Apple's obsolete versions which are bypassed). The 10.4.7 build works as expected, whereas the 10.3.9 build throws Disconnecting: Bad packet length 2477450673. when I

R for Mac OS X: 10.3.9 is obsolete?
Dear all, I am highly disappointed of the following decision: === ... Starting with R 2.3.0, CRAN binaries support Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and higher only. === Of course, === It is, however, possible to compile binaries for earlied OS X versions from sources. === But the process, described on http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/RMacOSX-FAQ.html#Building-R-from-sources consists of more than

Vector with factors inside lists/tuples
Hi, this seems like a strange question, but in R is there a function that can handle vectors containing factors inside lists/tuples? Or is there some other approach/functions I can use? Like for example V1 "{"Harry","Brown")" "{"Brown","Harry")" I want to use these variables in a machine learning setting, And don't want to convert

Problem with range()
Hello, I'm using range do define boundaries for a linear model, so the line I graph is only graphed for the range of data. There are NAs in the data, but I dont remember this being a problem before. I typed na.action=na.omit anyway, which has usually solved any NA issues in the past. Any idea why R cant do vector functions for these data? Solution? Thanks, Colin Wahl M.S. Biology candidate

r version 2.1.0 and graphics in mac os 10.3.9
I use mac os 10.3.9 and I've installed in my computer R 2.1.0 (I believe this is the latest R version). Although it works alright when I open R by clicking in the R icon, I cannot use the graphics facility when I open R from a X-terminal window (or x-11 window). In fact, when I try to open R I get the message that I pasted below. Is this a R bug? Is R assuming that I should have the

Hello, I'm running a PB G4 with Mac OS 10.4.1. I have downloaded the latest version R-2.1.0a.dmg. It appears that R does not work. It launches itself, but the window never gets ready, there is written "Loading R..." and a small progress wheel keeps turning indefinitely. Could someone help or suggest something? THANKS !! installing R and Rcmdr onMacOS 10.3.9
I have been trying to install the new, patched R 2.1.0a along with the Rcmdr on my mac. I got the basic R package installed, but in Project Manager, the tcltk package will not install. Making rsync compile under Mac OS X 10.3.9 with extended attributes
Somebody knows if it's possible to compile rsync (version 3 would be great, but can be 2.6.x) under Mac OS X 10.3.9 with extended attributes? Under OS 10.3.9 the Apple shipped rsync have not yet the -E argument option. RsyncX have a double free bug that is annoying. "Q" rsync 2.6.6 with extended attributes binary only works on 10.4 and above. I have tried to compile rsync

R for Mac 10.3.9
I know nothing of Macintosh, so please be patient. My student has a Macintosh with OSX 10.3.9. The R for Mac says it is for 10.4.4 or higher. Aside from saying "get a new Mac," what can be said to my student? Can you point me at the newest version of R that did work on 10.3 ? pj -- Paul E.
