tclarray with embedded spaces in data
I would like to use a tclArray:
mytkarray <- tclArray()
as the variable for a table:
table1 <- tkwidget(f1, 'table', variable= mytkarray)
but if I include character strings with embedded spaces, I get braces
appearing in the table.
I can remove them using a non-R tclarray, (the difference between the

tcltk, X11 protocol error: Bug?
Hi,
I am having trouble debugging this one. The code is attached below, but
it seems to be a problem at the
C-tk interface. If I run this 1 time there are no problems if I run it
more than once I start to get warnings
that increase in multiples of 11 everytime I run it. Here is a sample

read.table in TCL/TK interface
hello,
i would like program userfriendly tcl/tk widgets like
the t-test example in a more complex way !
(1) Is it not possible to combine tk_getOpenFile with
the R function read.table to select in userfriendly way data sets ?
(I'm newbie and take code-parts from t-test example and scripting example.)
(2) Is it possible to use a variableSelection widget
to select a special variable which i

tcltk, tclRequire and Tktable help
I know almost nothing about the tcltk library, and the
documentation seems very poor. What's the meaning of this
error, and is there any way to fix it? I'm running R 2.4.1
in a Windows XP machine where I have almost no privileges
(but at home I am the Evil Overlord of a Linux machine...)

tclRequire("Tktable")

tkinsert matrix - how to display a matrix with tcltk
dear list,
I have problems with tkinsert
I need to display a matrix as a result of my function, but when I use
tkinsert(txt, "end", myMatrix, sep="\n") I simply obtain a string.
I do:
n<-tclVar()
tclObj(n)<-matrix(data, ncol=lenght)
tkinsert(txt, "end", tclvalue(n), sep="\n")
any hints?
thank you in advance,

gif, jpeg and png image files reader AND tcltk image
Hi all,
Roger Peng and Jason Turner's suggestion with ImageMagick seem to be the
simplest "dirty" way
to get the problem solved.
But I ran into yet another interesting but quite round-about way to solve
the problem (partially). Through tcltk package, one can read in the gif
image with

possible tcltk event loop problem
Dear list members,
Rich Heiberger reported to me last week that the Messages window in the
Rcmdr GUI was freezing -- that is, messages posted to this window didn't
appear -- under Windows and R 2.8.0. I was able to confirm this problem on
three Windows systems, one using Vista and the other two XP. In each case, I
used R 2.8.0 and Rcmdr 1.4-4 (the current version). The problem doesn't

FXListBox size behavior?
The default behavior of FXListBox seems to be to grow and shrink in
width depending on the length of the selected entry in the list. This is
a problem when the list contains items of varying width, because if a
short item is picked then the longer entries are obscured in the
drop-down list.
Is this deliberate, an oversight, or a bug? Its certainly not how I''d
choose it to act. Is

Problem with tcltk listbox
Hi!
I've got two problems with listboxes and selection:
I created a listbox, no problem. Then I bind the Button-1 of the mouse to the listbox to start some things by pressing the mousebutton. The proiblem is that as I click a item of the listbox this error occured:
Error in .Tcl(.Tcl.args(...)) : [tcl] bad listbox index "": must be active, anchor, end, @x,y, or a number.

tcltk scrollbar
The following code should give me (at least that's what I think) two list
boxes with their individual scrollbars. But instead both scrollbars stick to
the same listbox even though they work as they should (scroll individual
listboxes). When I remove all the widgets on top everything works perfectly.
Any help would be highly apprecciated.
ps: all subsequent listboxes and scrollbars work

tcltk: multiple listboxes, selection
Dear list,
I have multiple (BWidget) listboxes in the same toplevel window.
The problem is, if I select (by left clicking) on one of those
listbox elements, the current selection in the *other* listboxes is
cleared!
Anybody knows how I can prevent this?
Here's my code (sorry not complete):

Using Tk table widget to display matrix
Has anyone written a matrix editor or data.entry() replacement using the Tk
table widget? I've been playing around with the examples at
http://bioinf.wehi.edu.au/~wettenhall/RTclTkExamples/tktable.html
and making some progress, but I'd rather not spend much time on this if
someone else has already done it.

FXlistBox.fillItems() segmentation fault - Found Work-around
As my prior posts show, I was getting very random segmentation faults when repeatedly clearing items from a listbox and then repopulating the items. I was using the following statements:
mylistbox.clearItems()
mylistbox.fillItems(new_list)
This would work for awhile, but after enough iterations of clearing and replacing the items in the listbox it would segmentation faults at the .fillItems
