Ruuid missing Gtk glib.dylib
Hi, I get an error indicating a missing library from the package 'Ruuid'. I suppose this means I should install RGtk. I just thought I'd document the error. Maybe a dependency entry is missing? R 2.9.0 OS X 10.5.8 Thanks, - chris > biocLite('Ruuid') Using R version 2.9.0, biocinstall version 2.4.12. Installing Bioconductor version 2.4 packages: [1] "Ruuid"

Package dev: Depends, require, SaveImage best practices?
I'm trying to sort out some best practices for package development and understand some behavior of R CMD check that has me confused. Best practice question: If a package foo appears in the Depends field in the DESCRIPTION file of mypkg, should I refrain from using require(foo) in the R source files of mypkg? The Writing R Extensions manual says this about the Depends field: ... the

Problem with listDomains() in Xen
This question concerns the usage of the listDomains(). When I run this piece of code in KVM, it works perfectly fine but throws an array out of bounds exception in Xen. Connect conn=null; conn = new Connect("xen:///", true); int[] id = conn.listDomains(); System.out.println("lD of VM " +id[0]); Answer I'd got: Well, your code assumes that id.length is >= 1, but

auth_debug_passwords
Hi. I'm new to Dovecot and about to start using it in production. In the config file, I set the option, auth_debug_passwords, to yes. I do not see any failed passwords logged, however. It did cause more verbose authentication logging, but failed passwords are still hidden. I have also set these options to yes, because I thought they might be required for auth_debug_passwords to work:

[PATCH] Btrfs-progs: enhance 'btrfs subvolume list'
"btrfs subvolume list" gets a new option "--fields=..." which allows to specify which pieces of information about subvolumes shall be printed. This is necessary because this commit also adds all the so far missing items from the root_item like the received UUID, all generation values and all time values. The parameters to the "--fields" option is a list of items to

How do I call a masked function in a package without a namespace?
Hello, I work with two packages sna and graph from CRAN resp. Bioconductor. Both packages have a function called "degree". Therefore one of the functions is masked by the other and which one gets called depends on the order of loading. The problem is that both package do not have a namespace, therefore calling the masked function with "package::degree" does not work.

WAY OT: domain name registration .co.za
Hello All, Very sorry about WAY off-topic query, but you folks really are one of my most International subscribed groups. I am looking for a recommendation for a domain name registrar I can register my .co.za domain name with that won't 'yank my chains'. I tried a couple attempts at registering and found some hidden fees along with the insistence that I had to host my DNS with

Problem building R
I initially thought this only was the case for me on R-devel, but also just tested it on the current R-patched and R-2.1.1 (so perhaps this more belongs on R-help, but ...). I'm having an odd error with the makefiles in src/library/XXX while building R. When it tries to create the 'po' directory, the Makefile specifies: @if test -d $(srcdir)/inst/po; then \ $(MKINSTALLDIRS)

problem with postscript output of R-devel on Windows
I have developed a problem with the postscript output of plot on Windows. My code still works properly with R 2.3 but, with R 2.4, the white text on red background does not show up. It does, however, show up when output is sent to the screen. Below is my code and sessionInfo. config.status: error: cannot find input file: po/Makefile.in.in
The tarballs R-devel_2005-02-16.tar.gz, R-devel_2005-02-15.tar.gz and R-devel_2005-02-14.tar.gz all had the property that when I run ./configure on them I get the following error message: config.status: error: cannot find input file: po/Makefile.in.in which terminates the configure script. After R-devel_2005-02-15.tar.gz was posted but before R-devel_2005-02-16.tar.gz was posted, Jeff Gentry
