Problem building a DLL from Fortran 90 source under Windows (with solution)
Hi, All, I have come across a problem building a DLL from .f90 source (R 2.3.1, Windows XP). When using the R CMD SHLIB procedure, the DLL itself was being built, but its export table was empty. Among the output from R CMD SHLIB the following message appeared: c:\mingw\bin\nm.exe: 'a.out': No such file The reason is the empty list of dependencies in the pattern rule for DLLs

Building acepack for Rw1000 under Win98
(Sorry, I had the previous emails on a different machine.) Thanks to Prof Ripley for diagnosing the problem with inconsistent capitals under Win98. It's 'interesting': * I had ...\acepack\Src\Ace.f Avas.f and Rlsmo.f (tar'ed in a Unix machine and Ws_FTP'ed to the PC) * when the directory name was changed to ...\acepack\src it still didn't work *

Rcmd SHLIB in rw1031 (R for Win)
Thanks for the answers on readme.packages. I have installed Rw1031 from SetupR.exe including the option for compiling source files and, following directions in www.stats.ox.ac.ul/pub/Rtools, have installed: -tools.zip -Perl (Active Perl) -mingw-1.1.tar.gz -copied sh.exe to c:\bin\sh.exe After Perl installation, its directory is added to my path. I have also added the directory where the R

[LLVMdev] calling c-function with a vector
Hi all, I have the following problem: I want to call a function from llvm (tryf in the following) which takes a vector as an argument. The function tryf is a c-function and should output the whole vector. But I only get 0.0. Looks like a problem with how the arguments are passed. I havn't found anything in the docs about how vectors are passed. Any help would be appreciated. The llvm-code

Cross compiling a package for Windows on Linux
I would like to compile for Windows a rather simple R package that contains some C code. It does not contain any Fortran code. I tried the cross-compilation route using the pre-built set of tools from http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/SDL/Xmingw32/, as described in $R_SRC/src/gnuwin32/INSTALL Using the sources in r-devel from the rsync site I am able to build libR.a in src/gnuwin32 but I

success(?) with cross-compiling R package with R 2.9.1
Hi, (I am not longer on R-devel - please CC:) Just when Fedora 11 is shipping a gcc 4.4 based cross-compiler - the last major distro to ship a cross-compiler, but the first to ship a gcc 4.4- one.(both Suse & Debian has been so so for a while, and I expect Ubuntu as well), and the mingw people has finally released gcc 4.4 mingw builds, I am a little disappointed to find that cross-compling

R-beta: R-0.61.3 for Win95/NT available
I have just put on ftp://sirio.stat.unipd.it/pub/R a new version of R for Win95/NT. The main difference concerns dynamic linking (see below). In addition, the binary distribution contains many of the available packages (all the ones that I have installed on my Unix machine). In the afternoon, I will upload the files on CRAN. g.m. This is the README file: rw0613b.zip is a new binary

gfortran Makefile for windows
Hi all, (Originally posted to r-help) I'm porting a package that I've worked on for OS X to Windows. The package is written in F95 so I need to compile it with gfortran and link it with gcc4. I've been trying to build an R with gcc4 without luck so far. If there is a binary of such a thing info would be appreciated. This package requires a Makefile. My question is, how can I find

problem typcasting return of R_ExternalPtrAddr(SEXP s)
In the odesolve routine lsoda(), I allow the function (named func) that calculates the system of differential equations to be defined in a dll that has been dynamically loaded from the file named in dllname. I use getNativeSymbolInfo(func, dllname)$address to get the address of the function and pass it to a C function called via the .Call interface. Inside that C function, I use

Use of PKG_FFLAGS on Windows
Dear all, After reading the manuals (especially R-exts) I haven't found an answer to the following question yet. I was compiling someone else's Fortran routines to make them available with R. Hear, I should not that I don't know anything about Fortran, and I only tried to built a shared library. Linux being my platform of choice when developing for R, I first got everything done

Dynamic C Symbols and Embedding Suggestion
Hello, I've been playing around w/ the new dynamic C symbol stuff (thank you for doing that!) in the, um, 5/11/01 R-devel package and, unless I've missed something incredibly obvious, there doesn't appear to be a mechanism for registering functions of an embedding executable. It seems like this would be a Good Thing to have. Since I'm doing most of my work in Windows at the
