Submission from: (NULL) (130.158.158.65)
In the list of CRAN mirrors($R_HOME/doc/CRAN_mirrors.csv), I found a mistyping.
Mirror in University of Tsukuba is described as "Tsukaba", not "Tsukuba".
I know "Tsukuba" is correct, because I'm webmaster of this mirror :-)

Node and Class unique naming
All
I am doing some testing and have a quick question. Do class and node
names have to be unique? I define a node:
node test {
include test
}
and a class called test.
When I run the test node and connect I don''t get an error but no
configuration is applied to the node. Is this normal behaviour or a
bug? If it''s normal behaviour should Puppet tell you about the

Wiki language issues
Hi all
It's morning and I haven't had coffee but has anyone else noticed that
the Wiki seems to have changed languages from English to Russian in
sections?
http://wiki.dovecot.org/FrontPage
It appears a user has made some edits to a couple of the pages and
'translated' them.

mirrorlist returns wrong servers
Hi,
We're using CentOS on various servers in Japan.
Recently, I found that mirrorlist.centos.org returns servers in China.
It makes "yum update" slow.
This problem occurs on "update" repo.
Our tries and results are follows:
## "os" repository
$ curl "http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6.5&arch=x86_64&repo=os"

Dovecot and CRAM-MD5 authentication (brief) HOWTO
Hi all,
I just finished configuring CRAM-MD5 for Dovecot and noted there were
not a lot of resources out there that described the process.
I've written up a rough and brief HOWTO at:
http://www.kartar.net/weblog/cram-md5-authentication-with-dovecot/
Comments welcome and hope it helps someone.

ezstream question
Larry, if you have a mac laying around, a solution would be to try Nicecast from Rogameba. i?m not sure if i?m spelling this correctly but the point to me making mention of this is to say this, the effects aren?t all that accessible. so, if you were to do that, sighted assistance would be recommended.
just a thought. hope it helps.

Turnbull estimate
Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a function that calculates the Turnbull estimate
for left, right and interval censored data. None of the data that I am
using has exact failure times. The only function I seem to find can handle
data that has no left censoring. It seems that I will have to program
this myself. In your opinion, is it advisable to start with the
function, kaplanMeier, in Splus

calculating confidence intervals for the turnbull estimate
Does anyone know of software to calculate confidence intervals for the
non-parametric estimate of the survival distribution when data are
interval censored, ie, for the Turnbull estimate?

Windows 2000 prompts for password when using unix account on windows 2000 workstation
We are trying to get windows 2000 to map a network drive on our unix box
which is set up with samba. Both win 2000 and the unix have the same account
set up on the share.
We have hacked the registry on the windows 2000 box so it uses plain text
passwords however when we log in and map the drive, it still wants us to
enter the password for the user.
Why is this so??
Is there a hack for this??

Does samba support netware authentiocation.
Can netware logins and password authenticate to samba shares?
If so is it scalable? We have a about 50000 netware users.
How do you set it up.
Thanks

Still need help with ticket triage
As everyone probably realizes, I''m getting swamped with incoming
problems and tickets and I still need help triaging the tickets.
James Turnbull has volunteered to help some, but I think we need more
than one person. We''ve had a few people step in once or twice, but
I''d like to be able to depend on Unreviewed tickets getting handled
by someone else, rather

smbmounted shares don't stay mounted
I'm running Linux 2.1.130 on an AXP, with Samba 2.0 beta 2. I have smbfs
enabled in the kernel with Win 95 bug fixes enabled but I'm not running
smbd. The server containing the share is an HP running Samba 1.9.16p11.
I mount the share with
smbmount //hpname/share -c 'mount /home/me/mydir'
All is well for a while (~1 hour), but then I get
kernel: smb_get_length: recv error = 5

filebucket retrieval
Hi,
While at LCA this year I was talking to James Turnbull, and I think he
said it was possible to
a) pull files off a puppet client to the puppet master
b) push those files out to other puppet clients
I''ve been reading up on FileBucket and I don''t understand how I can
achieve that, or if I''m on the right track. Whats at
