Memory problem with GridCell*Editor
Alex, I was getting the following crashes when editing cells in a grid: ./init.rb:1072:in `main_loop'': undefined method `begin_edit'' for "_p_wxEvent":String (NoMethodError) from ./init.rb:1072 but only after the first App GC mark phase. So I changed all the GridCell*Editor.i files from GC_MANAGE to GC_MANAGE_AS_EVENT. Which stopped the crashing. My question

patches for wxGridCell*Renderer and wxGridCell*Editor
I added a bunch of *.i files to get the cell renderers and editors working for wxGrid. I still have a problem when switching cells in the grid but I think that is a problem with wxGrid, will look into it. In the process I found a bug in a typemap for wxArrayString & that I am surprised we did not find earlier. ($input = Qnil) should be ($input == Qnil), big difference. Also added a type check

more fixes for Grid classes
I am still hunting the bug where the cell editor finishes and crashes on Mac OS. In the process I have gone over these Grid related classes in great detail and found most were %importing wxObject.h and wxEvtHandler.h and they were not needed. I added a *.i file for ClientDataContainer not sure if it is needed out side Grid. I also added GridCellCoords. Sean

Re: new RubyConstants.i
Here is a small patch to apply the above RubyConstants.i, it makes it so all the samples run. Run the patch in the same directory as the RubyConstants.i Sean On 8/30/05, Sean Long <sean.m.long@gmail.com> wrote: > I went through RubyConstants.i and updated it so everything matches > wx2.6.1, I also did some rearranging so it is easy to see which files > the different constants came

more patches
Here are a few patches 2 small changes and one a little hefty. All are to *.i files. SpinCtrl.patch - Changes cWxSpinCtrl.klass to mWxSpinCtrl in rb_define_method. Dialog.patch - Removed the %ignore wxDialog::wxDialog line, this line prevents Dialogs working with XRC. Window.i - Added special code for find_window_* methods so the correct object type is returned, this is very important when

Tagged wxruby2 v0.0.29, plus added more directors
Since things seemed to be somewhat stable (that is, wxruby2 compiles and runs on all three platforms), I tagged what has been there for a couple days as v0_0_29. Nothing magic about it, but it had been a while since I had tagged. Then I worked on adding directors to the classes that don''t have them, in the hopes of avoiding more segfault crashes during garbage collection. I was able

Re: event handlers for wxGrid
I got a warning from the list about the attachments being too big so I am not sure if the original went through. So here is a zip of the files. Which editor
Ok, so I''m new to Ruby and wxRuby. I come from a Basic background (RealBasic). Can somebody suggest a decent IDE that is used for wxRuby. Something where I can paste in code examples and then run them immediately. (I''m a Windows Vista user) Any suggestions welcome. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Patches to rake files
rakewx.rb: - Added a $debug_build variable so when we do eventually we can also release non debug builds. I did not make this a constant on purpose so in the package tasks we can change it to false if we want to always make non debug builds by default. - Changed wx_config to use the $debug_build variable rakemswin.rb: - Updated the copyright year. - removed the $DEBUG const and make use of

Patches for inheritance fixes for 2 classes and added 1 class
I still have not gotten the latest code to display a window on OS X, I put output statements all through the minimal sample and all the code was hit except for GUI event related code. I seems as everything is working fine but the GUI just does not show anything. Anyway in the process of looking for a fix I fixed some other errors that I came across. in App.i I changed wxDEBUG to __WXDEBUG__ now

wxRuby Tutorial
Hi Everyone, My name is Sean Lindsay, and I have recently joined the wxRuby project. I have been talking with Alex and have agreed to update the tutorial. I have started by placing a link to a new temporary tutorial page so that the old one can stay in place for the time being. I have written up a preliminary table of contents and would be happy to hear any

Patch to Calendar sample
This patch cleans up the calendar sample to follow the Ruby coding style. It also uses ID_ABOUT and ID_EXIT for the About and Quit menu item ID''s these allow wxWidgets to put the About and Quit menu in the correct location on Mac OS X. We should probably do this with all the samples. Sean _______________________________________________ wxruby-users mailing list

Fixes for ListControl
These patches fix the ListCtrl_virtual demo. Note I changed the loading of the icon to the loading of a bitmap. I remember discussing this before. For some reason the .xpm loader isn''t initialized properly for Wx::Icon. However, the function will take a bitmap just fine so this works. This also adds directors for wxListItem and wxListEvent Roy

[BUG] Menus on Snow Leopard not working correctly
I posted the following bug at http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=27962&group_id=35&atid=218. Adding ScreenDC
Here is the file to add ScreenDC. I noticed that it inherits from wxDC which is what the docs show but the headers for each platform are much different: - Mac,MSW,os2,motif,palmos all inherit from wxWindowDC - X11,GTK inherit from wxPaintDC - MGL, cocoa inherit from wxDC After saying that on Windows it still work inheriting from wxDC so I left it for now, any thoughts? Wizards
Hi Please find attached a set of patches and swig files to implement Wizards for wxruby. Also a brief sample. Quick q - the C declarations of evt_xxx_xxx methods and their attaching to Ruby classes seems to be duplicated across Events.i and EvtHandler.i - is one of these the right place to be adding them? or both? Thanks alex _______________________________________________
