similar to: Debian woody (stable) 1.0pre8 package

Hi all, I hope this is the correct list to post such a question. I was trying to install the R-project on Debian and encountered significant problems with the same. The main problem is the installation of the libc6 package. I need this package in order to install the R-core package. However, the libc6 is dependent on the libdb1-compat package, which just refuses to install on my server.

I had this same problem. To fix, I just commented the line with the CURLOPT_NOSIGNAL out since I couldn't find that option anywhere in the curl headers. It's running fine on my Debian woody box. I earlier this week upgraded from Debian woody to sarge on a machine that does a nightly backup to another machine via a samba share. Since then I have had some issues with accessing that share with I believe are a result of the upgrade.
