cannot route packet: unknown type 0
Hi! When I try to use tinc I get this message 'Cannot route packet: unknown type 0' when I try to ping or ssh to the box I'm connected to. Below is my setup: ifconfig tun device: -------------------- midkemia Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FE:FD:00:00:00:00 inet addr:192.168.6.1 Bcast:192.168.6.255 Mask:255.255.0.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500

tinc1.0pre3
I gave tinc1.0pre3 a test after the modifications you have done today. It insists that it is still 1.0pre2 but this is due to the fact the you used "1" as tag for configure.in rather than "CABAL". Anyway - results were not much more successful than yesterday: *** SERVER side log file from startup until sone seconds after connection was established *** Jun 25 21:14:30 lemon

tinc hangs on large quantities of data
I have tinc setup between three machines debian linux 2.2.17, redhat linux 2.2.14-5.0smp, and redhat linux 2.4.2-2. Everything works unless I try to transfer large amount of data from the 2.4.2-2 machine to either of the others. When I do that connection hangs. Something as simple as telneting to that machine from on of the others and typing 'ls -l' in a large directory like /bin

Error: cannot route packet - please help
Hi, I?m fighting with a silly problem: my syslog tells me tinc cannot route a packet. I can use a telnet or the good ol ping, it is the same effect. When I?m pinging from the laptop (172.16.11.2) the network address (172.16.11.0) or any address numerically lower than the laptops address, the packet gets routed, otherwise not. And when I ping the network address, I get the reply twice, as to be

Connection problem
I've got a test lab set up and im having problems connecting. The first problem is that it takes it a couple of tries before it actually connects the two machines. It complains about bogus data and after trying for a minute or so it connects. kill -USR1 shows that they are connected kill -USR2 only shows the local subnet, not the remote I've tried these versions without any luck: cvs

Using a tinc vpn as a default route
I have been trying to set up one end of a tinc vpn as a default gateway for the other and am not having much success. Given that I have two machines, A and B. I have a working tinc connection between A and B on an internal network. B has access to machines on A's subnet using statements such as Subnet=10.38.9.0/24 Subnet=172.24.100.33/32 A is connected to the internet, B has to go

tinc bug (bogus connection)
guus, i just compiled latest cvs: the bug is still there. the diffs i have against what i got from cvs and what is debian 1.0.2_2 show that the only significant addition is of an AF_UNKNOWN and its use, and the use of a tinc- defined sockaddrfree (and copy?) i'm still getting some "Bogus packets" using latest cvs. i _am_ however, it appears... just now... actually getting valid

tinc-1.0pre8 fails to compile on RH 9.0
Hi, I had posted a similar question a few days back(but my mails started bouncing back, when I tried to post to the newsgroup). So here is it again. My System: Rh 9.0 (2.4.20-13.9), openssl-0.9.7a-5, openssl-devel-0.9.7a-5 Autoconf tools: autoconf-2.57-3, automake-1.6.3-5 1. When I try to compile tinc-1.0 pre8 on my RH 9.0 system, it fails.. When I do a ./configure, it aborts saying:
