10th anniversary of tinc 1.0
Hello everyone,
Today is exactly 10 years ago that tinc 1.0 was released. I would have hoped to
celebrate this by releasing 1.0.22 and 1.1pre8 today, but this will instead
happen in one week.
Tinc 1.1 is close to becoming stable, and I hope to release 1.1.0 before the
end of the year. The main features of tinc 1.1 are the improved security over
tinc 1.0, and a much nicer interface that makes it

Plugin for XFS project quota
Hi,
I just finished writing a small plugin that reports XFS project quota in de
IMAP component of Dovecot (1.2, currently). It was written to fill the
needs of our organization but someone else might find this useful as well.
In its current form it's not suitable for inclusion in the generic quota
backend (see ?Drawbacks?).
Features:
- every mailbox/folder can have its own project ID;

Authentication scheme
Hello everybody,
Here are some thoughts about the authentication scheme to be used in tinc. The
current scheme (see CVS version, revision CABAL) does this:

AGI STREAM FILE command
Has anyone had success with the AGI STREAM FILE command with the CVS? I
can't get it to work with the debian 1.0.5 package or the CVS on Redhat
or Debian.
It's not syntax, I'm doing that right. It doesn't give me an error when
I use AGI DEBUG, it doesn't even give a response, just goes right on to
the next command. I put a "SAY NUMBER 123 #" before and after

extremely dense tinc-mini-howto
Hi,
I'm trying to write an extremely dense tinc-mini-howto.
You can see it at:
http://keetweej.vanheusden.com/~folkert/tinc_mini_howto.html
Please send me suggestions on how I can make things better
and such.
Oh, and if someone could tell me how to configure tinc so
that it authenticates against the host on the other side,
please tell me! (couldn't figure that one out)
Folkert.

tinc SECURITY INFORMATION - Unauthorized access to VPN
Although we (the authors of tinc) have done our best to make tinc as

tap1 problem
Hi Tinc Mailing-Group,
Having set up the kernel correctly, and got tinc running successfully,
I am now trying to get two VPNs running at once. Hence I need to
have two ethertap devices ( /dev/tap0 and /dev/tap1 ).
The first tap0 device was created thus:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap0 c 36 16
chown 0.0 /dev/tap0
The second tap1 device was created too:
mknod -m 600 /dev/tap1 c 36 17
chown 0.0 /dev/tap1

[URGENT] tinc has a security hole of about 50 million km^2
Sending your passphrase encrypted is all fine, but tinc sends the key
with which it was encrypted about a second later...
Anyone being able to intercept these two requests is authorized on the
VPN.
We need asymmetric authentication _now_.

How to park/transfer a call received from a Queue?
Hi!
I'm trying to transfer a incomming call from a Queue to another extension.
I'm receiving a call from a queue with the AgentCallbackLogin.
The queu is as following:
Queue(sales|t)
Which should allow transfers.
So as soon as the call is answered I would like to be able to transfer it
When the agent presses the # I get the dialtone but as soon as I press any

Hi all,
I?ve got a HFS+(not journaled) volume connected to my centos6.2 test
server, i installed the kmod-hfs(plus) packages and read/write works all
fine.
but since i?m going to use this for serving mac home folders via
netatalk i would like to mount it with support for Extended Attributes

Tinc doesn't connect
Hi,
I'm trying to set-up a VPN using Tinc 1.0pre3.
When I start tincd I get the following in /var/log/messages.
On the machine that listens for incomming connections:
> Mar 16 17:23:24 vpn tinc[1168]: tincd 1.0pre3 starting
> Mar 16 17:23:24 vpn tinc[1168]: Ready: listening on port 655
