Re: StaticBoxSizer bug?
Daniel, Thanks for the sample code. Sizers do appear to have a problem and it''s on the list to take a look at. I''m currently reworking several classes and trying to fix some of the big compatibility bugs. I will test your code with my latest builds but I don''t think I''ve gotten to the sizers yet. wxPen.h
wxPen.h #ifdefs out the stipple constructor for GTK but Pen.i %ignores the stipple functions (GetStipple, SetStipple). Shouldn''t we follow the same path so we get GetStipple and SetStipple on Mac and Windows? I didn''t attach a patch. Too tired. Hopefully someone else can whip that into shape. :) Roy

Swig generates bad interface to GetTextExtent
Swig''s bad interface generation strikes again. get_text_extent called with 1 argument maps to WindowDC''s _wrap_wxWindowDC_GetTextExtent__SWIG_0 Since this generates a wxFont that''s not initialized to nil it fails when calling into wxWindows. Anyone have a suggestion?

static box sizing problems
Hi, I tried this one over on the main wx-users list as well, but thought I would try it here since I am using wxRuby: I am using wxWidgets 2.8.7 on a linux box using the GTK build. I have pared down my issue to the simplest case: I am trying to use a horizontal BoxSizer to split a frame into two sections: a left and right side. I want the left side to stretch proportionally and I want the

*OUTPUT/*INPUT typemaps
Hi Have been looking again at SWIG output pointer parameters, as: http://www.swig.org/Doc1.3/Ruby.html#Ruby_nn32 The problem is, whenever I tried to include the SWIG/Ruby ''typemaps.i'' file, it threw loads of errors. A bit more investigation pinned the problem down to some secondary files that typemaps.i includes to map ''special'' types like File. So I tried

Rubyfication of wxWindows
As I posted to the list, at some point after we''ve fixed all the gaping huge holes we''ll begin plastering over the rougher spots in wxRuby2. I was giving some thoughts to predicate methods, of which there are quite a few in wxWindows. My question is, how far from the wxWindows documentation do we want to move? Do we want to have aliases for all renamed methods? Example:

Problem with directors and Ruby
I''ve tried to distill this sample down to its smallest portion. The problem is that the function included in the .i file can take optional arguments, most of which are output only, except the last one, which is input only. My target language is Ruby. When SWIG produces the wrapper for this the input parameter''s name and type gets confused with the second
