Status of supporting Flash animations
I found such a description of swfdec package in Packman repository: > Libswfdec is a library for rendering Flash animations. > Currently it handles mostFlash 3 animations and some Flash 4. No interactivity is supported yet. Which I belive is very not up to date. As far as I know, Swfdec 0.5.5 comes with fully supported interactivirty, doesn't it? Are there still some big issues about

Problem with alpha-blending animations under Wine
Hi, we developed product under Win, which is using GDI alpha-blending for animations like fade-in/out, glow effects and etc. We tried to run it under Linux with Wine. The problem is that all animations which are using alpha-blending are gone. Does somebody know what is going on?

Is there a method for creating "animations" using R. Or is there another piece of software (unix perferrably) that can generate a "movie" from many ps/eps/gif/jpg files? Thanks, Jeff. Jeff D. . Re: Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz
Dear Dotan, The problem of flashing/flickering in 3D apps/ videos with Xv enabled on account of non-redirection is limited to AIGLX and not an issue at all with XGL and compiz. fglrx till date has many mem leaks and crappy 3d performance on linux especially with compiz enabled. If you want to use these apps with compiz, for now use XGL. Else just disable compiz temporarily when

Java animations, Google Earth flashing with Compiz enabled
On a Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 with the ATI x1400 video card running the fglrx driver on Kubuntu 8.04, I have some video problems while running Compiz. I am not using XGL, in fact, I removed it from the system as it was causing performance issues. The symptoms I describe here were present before removing XGL, as well as after. The test applet on java.com flashes (as if it disappears between

[PATCH] Fade vs. Animation conflict resolution
Hi, Here is a simple patch that adds an option to the Fade plugin to enable/disable fading on minimize/open/close window events. This option is on by default but can be disabled to avoid conflicts with the Animation plugin. Fading on other stuff (fade during nonresponding app. desaturation, during switcher, and visual bell) shouldn't be affected (which is the main point of this patch).

I'm using the RIP Linux mini rescue distribution. http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/ I have modified v. 7.0 for usage on our 32 node Tyan Tiger MPX Linux cluster with a serial console. Because of a bug with Grub on this motherboard when running headless and using a serial console I use the optional Isolinux version 2.08 also included with RIP Linux to boot from a

We have been using pxelinux 1.62 for quite a while with great success Our machines are old Super-Micro rackmounts (PIII 1.4 GHz) and IBM x335. We recently acquired some IBM x336 servers with an updated Broadcom network adapter (compared to the x335). I couldn't get them to boot with pxelinux 1.62. pxeboot garbage screen
I am using pxeboot (syslinux) 1.75 and I'm attempting to boot diskless with the pxeboot.0 system. The system boots, downloads the pxeboot.0, the kernel and then the screen turns to garbage. Does anyone know what this is/how to fix this? Thanks. -- Paul Slinski System Administrator Global IQX http://www.globaliqx.com/ pauls at globaliqx.com
