Status of nut snmp SUBagent
Hi!.
I recently installed NUT on my servers to monitor a Eaton Ellipse UPS.
Now I'm planning my next step: Monitor the UPS status with cacti using
snmp. I see that there was a nut snmp subagent (I'm not talking about
the nut-snmp driver)
(http://www.networkupstools.org/server-projects/). But the current
link doesn't work (404).
I haven't found anything about it in the web. ?Is

how to explore contents of R data file from command line?
Dear all,
I have a directory with my research project, containing files
.RData
and
inflow.RData
I am just curious, is there any way to explore contents of inflow.RData from
command line without affecting .RData and without copying inflow.RData to
another location?
I can see names and character attributes (of something in the file) in a 3rd
party raw file viewer.

Marks SNMP HowTo
I followed Marks SNMP howto on Voip Magazine and ran into a small
problem... (http://www.voip-magazine.com/content/view/2877/0/1/3/)
When asterisk is running as a non-root user (asterisk) SNMP request
for for the Asterisk MIB tree return nothing. If I quit asterisk and
run it as root, all is fine. Does anyone have a idea what is going
on? I have never used agentX, so I am unsure of what it is

ast-ax-snmpd release 0.3
Hi to all,
today I have released the version 0.3 of ast-ax-snmpd.
It is some code that adds the snmp subagent functionality to asterisk,
using the ucd snmp framework and following the agentX standard.
It has tested under debian woody, with specific version of ucd_snmp,
so your mileage may vary.
I am evaluating to transfer this effort under a more recent net-snmp
umbrella,
this could permit

[LLVMdev] clang -integrated-as compiles all of FreeBSD
hi!
To continue the inflow of good news this week, let me announce that
clang -integrated-as (ie. ELF part of MC) compiles all of FreeBSD!
This includes things like booting kernel, gnu libstdc++, clang/LLVM
itself and many other components that make up FreeBSD operating system.
I personally consider this a milestone where -integrated-as should
become the default for ELF/{x86_64,i386}.

How many concurrent IMAP sessions?
Has anybody ever bothered to measure how many concurrent IMAP sessions dovecot
can handle?
I know it depends on hardware, filesystem, mailbox type etc., but what exactly
controls the number and what have people on the list measured?

Mail delivered, but lost?
Running dovecot 1.2.9 on a Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS virtual machine.
Postfix receives messages and hands them over to deliver for local storage.
Today two mails came in that could not be found allthough they got delivered.
What catches my eye is the "?" in the msgid:

OT: IMAP folder aliases
It seems that there is no standard for folder names that deal with typical
message classes such as drafts, outbox, sent, spam etc. At least there's no
common sense on a naming convention that tells how client should handle this.
Worse than this, most IMAP clients auto-create folders according to their own
naming convention if they don't exist. Every client introduces its own view.

RFE: IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use Mailboxes
Timo,
would you consider adding support for "IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use
Mailboxes" <http://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6154.txt> any time near in the
future?
I would really love to get rid of all those folders created by all those
different mail clients just because they can't agree to use the same folder
for special purpose.
Obviously clients need to support it too.

Modifying LDAP search results for user_attrs
I need to authenticate users via LDAP either by mailaddress or login name.
In both cases the mailbox location is /src/mail/%d/%n. I can easily deduct
that path from the mailaddress, but not so from the login name.
Can I get the mail address as part of fetching user_attrs and modify it on the
fly? Something along the lines of this:
user_attrs =

Is there any Asterisk controllable thermostat?
I am wondering if there is any such thermostat available which can be
controlled from Asterisk. Like you call your home pbx, dial some extension,
e.g. 333 and it asks to set the temperature, you enter a temperature, and it
sets the thermostat to that temperature. This thermostat will be very
useful, e.g. when you're coming back home after a few days and now its
snowing and you want home to be

IMAP SPECIAL-USE extension
It's implemented now in dovecot-2.1 hg. It also deprecates autocreate plugin (but it still works the old way). The idea is that you can now do e.g.:
mailbox Trash {
auto = no
special_use = \Trash
}
mailbox Drafts {
auto = no
special_use = \Drafts
}
mailbox Sent {
auto = subscribe # autocreate, autosubscribe
special_use = \Sent
}
mailbox Spam {
auto = create # autocreate, but

Problem listing SPECIAL-USE flags
Timo,
we want to implement SPECIAL-USE in Thunderbird (TB), but we've run into
problems. I believe you could help change that.
Here's the problem:
By default TB only lists subscribed (LSUB) folders when it accesses an IMAP
server. However when I do a LSUB on recent Dovecot 2.1 code from mercurial I
don't get to see the SPECIAL-USE flags. Therefore TB fails to identify which
folders

SASL EXTERNAL docs?
The wiki says Dovecot supports SASL EXTERNAL as of version 1.2.
I couldn't find any documentation telling me how I would configure SASL
EXTERNAL. Is there any?

bandwidth requirement
Hi Folks,
have a question, on bandwidth.
I want to run an asterisk server SIP to H323, g729. Calls arrive on sip/iax
go to IVR get authenticated and egress through h323. So G729 license is only
used during IVR and then it is pass through.
I am collocating this server. Colo offer a monthly bandwidth quota. Lets say
I want to do 100K minutes per month of VoIP calling at the beginning. What

Collecting system stats
Hi,
I am trying to create a report across all my KVM hypervisors using libvirt
API and I need some assistance in figuring out the right API calls. My
report will contain the total available memory, CPU, disk across all
hypervisors, versus the amount used by the virtual machines. This report
will help figure out if we are running low on hypervisor disk, CPU or
memory and if we need to add more.

[LLVMdev] informative stats to gather on building llvm/clang?
Hi,
people who work ON llvm/clang are a bit atypical in that we build llvm/clang
as often as we build things using WITH them. Since the code base is
increasing, I thought I'd take a look at how things break down in a typical
build (to see if there's anything obviously "huh?" going on). I'm building
using enable-optimized, disable-assertions version of clang++ trunk from
