Set http_proxy environment variable for package install?
Hi,
I''m attempting to use Puppet with Vagrant to setup some boxes.
My desktop is sitting behind a corporate HTTP proxy.
This is my current (rather Spartan) manifests file:
package { "python-pip":
> ensure => "installed"
> }
> package { "build-essential":
> ensure => "installed"

When I do this, Vagrant appears to

Passing http_proxy_host option
Hi,
I''ve been trying to pass the http_proxy_host option to puppet but it''s not
taking.
I have tried the following:

http://user:pass@fqdn.com.au --modulepath ''/tmp/vagrant-puppet/modules-0''

sudo puppet apply --debug --verbose

ActionWebService: XMLRPC Server Multicall possible?
Hi all,
I have a question concerning ActionWebService XMLRPC servers: Is it
possible to send multicall requests to the Web service? I tried to
use multicall and get the error message:
no such method ''system.multicall'' on API [MyAPI]
In Changeset 2021 there is the following commit message:

Dashboard - Unable to submit report to http://127.0.0.1:3000/reports/upload [301] Moved Permanently
Hello,
I successfully installed puppet on redhat 6. Nodes can connect to master
and run catalog.
I installed dashboard and was hoping to see the reports uploaded in
dashboard...
I have no problem browsing to the dashboard but when an agent sends a
report to the master, I always get the same error in the master''s log: *Unable

Terrible FPS on Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO)
Hey all I've been trying to get some good FPS on this game and I can't seem to get it work decently at all. According to the AppDB for LOTRO a lot of people seem to be able to push out 80-150fps on this game. I don't know how as I've scoured the internet and have tried every possible registry tweak you can imagine. I even tried niceing the process to see if it would make a

How can I list classes available on the puppet master?
Is there a way to get a list of all the classes available from the puppet
master?
I have 2 goals for this - one is documentation in a human readable form,
and the other is potentially importing that data into dashboard.
I did find some info on the rest API
(http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/rest_api.html#resource-types ) but I
can''t make any sense of the output from it.
Thanks.

Puppet Agent VS User
Hello,
Running into a problem when wanting to daemon-ize the agent. It doesnt
seems to do anything:
- cannot find any daemon process with (ps aux | grep puppet)
- the config is not updated after editing some params on the master
- /var/log/puppet stay empty...
while, when logged as root, it is working without issue with $puppet agent
--test.

doveadm mailbox command fails if backend has an IPv6 address
Hi,
some of my maintenance scripts weren't working as expected and I finally
found that this only happens if the user was mapped to a backend server
reachable via IPv6:
On a director:
doveadm mailbox status -u username messages Junk
returns
Junk messages=203 (if backend is connected via IPv4)
or
Lookup of host ipv6addr:542 failed: ... (if backend is connected via IPv6)

preexec and msdfs proxy
One more time:
root preexec does: run a command or script if the user hit the share. Now
with msdfs proxy it need to be run on the linked host that carries the
share. So you are better
to set root preexec on the share of the linked host. I think there is no
other way.

XMMS plugin: string handling bugs
There are problems in the configure option handling code for http
streaming that was added to the XMMS plugin for 1.1.2.
In configure.c, flac_cfg.stream.proxy_host and other pointers to
strings are initialized with pointers to an empty string "".
Subsequent code in FLAC_XMMS__init() and flac_configurewin_ok()
passes these pointers to g_free(). Since they don't point to memory

bug in xmms plugin v 1.1.2
I, like others here, have noticed that the xmms plugin is broken for
first use in version 1.1.2. The problem is confusion between
dynamically-allocated and statically-allocated strings. A quick,
although perhaps not elegant, fix is included below.
Note: you would not see this if you already had a [flac] section in your
config file, which probably explains how it escaped the notice of

Hi,
I was wondering if someone had any thoughts as to why "preexec" doesn't fire when "msdfs proxy" is used?
Thank you,

preexec and msdfs proxy
Hi,
Thank you for you input!
We tried that already. That, however, doesn't do the same thing. It is then simply a DFS server and not the "magical" msdfs proxy - yes the user can now click on a link to get to the desired spot, but the proxy function _automagically_ sends the user, when they access the msdfs share, to the netapp's readonly share without the extra click. And it

Mousehole stuff
Hey everyone,
I''m using mousehole for the first time today (love the artwork, btw) and I

Realplayer audio/video plays fast & noisy on nVidia HDMI connected to HDTV
Hello,
This's my first ever post to CentOS lists. Sorry if I made any mistakes. My
family is familiar with this RealPlayer Gold 11 and hesitate to use VLC or
others. I googled a lot and tried different settings to no avail. Could you
please tell me what I need to edit in order to slow down the audio/video
playback of this old player? All other apps - even some older than

preexec and msdfs proxy
Hey,
thanks for the input!
I am looking into that. It is however a bit complicated due to the authentication lines and share connect lines being only related due to proximity in the log. It would probably work for most of the instances, but it would not be 100% viable, meaning we would be getting compaints and questions from our user "I ain't got that share?! WTF!!"
I was going to
