[FreeBSD] Fix for ServerWorks HT1000 in upcoming 7.1?
Hi, I have a server (Dell PowerEdge SC1435, ServerWorks HT1000) on which I'd like to try installing FreeBSD. I've already failed to make 7.0 work on this box and was wondering if you have information about the behavior of the upcoming 7.1 on this hardware. I've been following the "HT1000 chipset errata saga" thread, and the commits by sos@ to CVS (around Jan 2008), but have

HELP: ServerWorks data corruption after 350 MB with BerkeleyDB 4.0?
Hi, I received a bug report against BerkeleyDB 4 that may not be BerkeleyDB related, but a problem with FreeBSD or specific hardware in general. Jie Song (CC'd) reported that writing files with BerkeleyDB (no threading or something) on his ServerWorks machine causes data corruption (detected by BerkeleyDB 4.0 library functions) when the file sizes grow beyond 350 MB. For details, see PR

Serverworks HT1000 chipset drivers (Supermicro H8SSL motherboard)
Anyone using boards with this chipset? I've gotten some dual core single cpu boxes along with the physical dual cpu boxes I just received and they're using the Serverworks HT1000 (Broadcom 5785) chipset. My CentOS 4.2 DVD doesn't want to recognize the chipset so I can't see any of the SATA drives in the integrated SATA ports. Drives on 3Ware cards work as expected, but I

Looking for new hardware
Hi. I gave up with the IBM NetFinity, so I'm going to buy new hardware. I'm going to install: 1-)One X100P (1 FXO module) 2-)One TDM03B (3 FXO modules) I'll have the 4 FXO channels busy almost all the time, and I would like quality to be as good as possible without going to the high-level hardware. I would like to learn of some tested configurations (I've heard of problems

Failure of gvinum after panic
Hi all, I have some problems with my gvinum setup after the system panic'ed. Afterwards the system fails finding the plexes to the subdisks (or at least that is what I can understand after having searched the gvinum source code for the error string in the DMESG log..) The machine is an IBM Netfinity 5000 and the internal HW self tests does not find any errors in the hw. Luckily my root is

load balancing: per route or per interface?
Hi! I''m doing load balancing for 5 dsl lines, each one with a dsl router attached to a linux machine ethernet plug. The problem is that I''m adding 15 more dsl lines, and I don''t have enough PCI slots in the linux machine to sum up 20 ethernet plugs (I already have 2 quad ethernet cards). So I''m considering connecting all dsl routers and the linux machine to a

bwi: no DS tssi no OFDM tssi
Hello, I am attempting to get by broadcom wifi card up and running, am sick of trying to get ndis working, and am attempting to use the bwi driver (originating in dragonflyBSD). I'm hoping others here have tried to do the same and have some pointers. I'm using 7.1-RELEASE (system/source are in-sync) and my card is a BCM94306MP. My dmesg is posted below. Running Debian as DomU
Hello, I just gain experiences in using XEN and hope you can help me. My hostsystem is Centos5 that I installed on a Software-Raid (Level 1). Afterwards I downloaded the debian-tarball from the jailtime.org website, extracted/mounted the image and copied the "*/lib/modules/*<kernelversion>"-folder from my host to the guest. My XEN-Configfile looks like this: kernel =

The dell has (from tech specs) "three peer PCI buses: two 64-bit buses and one 32-bit bus Expansion slots seven hot-pluggable PCI slots (two 64-bit/66 MHz, four 64-bit/33 MHz, and one 32-bit/33 MHz)" I cannot get the card working in any of the slots.

What do you think about this motherboard?
Hello all..... I would like to know if anyone here has had good experience with this Supermicro motherboard.....http://supermicro.com/products/motherboard/P4/E7221/P8SCT.cfm I am thinking about using it in an entry level mail and file server with a 3ware card and 200 GB SATA drives. Cost is a factor here otherwise I would go for an Opteron board instead. JC
