Strange fork-trlated problem
Hello! This problem has been persisted on two different MBs (diffrent CPUs, different memory), half dozen of different NICs, 4.7-RELEASE and 4.8-RELEASE. Common router/NAT (ipnat, kld loaded) behaves very strangely after about 10-20 minutes of work. New processes doesn't create anymore, process trying to fork looks in top having -20 PRI and "temp" STATE. I was unable to find out

Packet flow through IPFW+IPF+IPNAT ?
Hi. On my FreeBSD 4.8 configured IPFW2+IPF+IPNAT and I use them all: - IPFW - traffic accounting, shaping, balancing and filtering; - IPFilter - policy routing; - IPNAT - masquerading. I want to know, how IP-packets flow through all of this components? What's the path? incoming: IPFW Layer2 -> IPFW&Dummynet -> IPNAT -> IPFilter ? outgoing: IPFW Layer2 ->

http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423 ------- Additional Comments From djm at mindrot.org 2003-03-10 12:06 ------- The patch looks good, but the only thing that makes me wary is the use of signals for IPC. Would it not be possible to do the chauthtok call earlier? E.g. after the call to do_pam_session() in do_exec_pty()? ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You

Crossbow virtual router and firewall
I want to run a non-global zone as a virtual router and run ipnat inside the non-global zone, however, when I try to enable routing it can''t find route:default or network/ipfilter. I''m using exclusive IP inside the zones and using OpenSolaris 2008.11 build 110. I''ve tried sparse root and whole root zones without success. I''ve read blogs and posts and

How to getting clean list of transferred files
Hello, i am using currently rsync-2.6.0 with option --log-format=%f to produce a list of the transferred files. This list is then used to generate hard-links for backup-purposes. Now rsync sometimes generates messages like "file has vanished: ..." on STDOUT (_not_ STDERR) which breaks this processing. When using option -q there is no output at all. Is there any way to get a

acutally a statistics question
hi, knowing there are a lot of statistics guru's in the R-mailing list, i throw in a statistics question. i have data that i do not know how to statistically test: subjects are repeatedly asked to make a decision (e.g. left-right -> coded as 0 or 1). i have 20 subjects, each subject made 8 decisions. i now want to analyse whether my experimental manipulation induced a systematic bias

FreeBSD ipsec and NAT

Now I want to be able to connect from other machines through the firewall - this is where I come unstuck, the ipsec policy allows for my external address range to connect through the vpn, but then I would
