Anyone heard of BroadVox direct?
Just received: Cognigen is very proud to announce the official launch of Broadvox Direct, a new VOIP service. Broadvox Direct offers unlimited calling plans to anywhere in the US and Canada for a low monthly payment starting at $29.95 and basic accounts as low as $12.95. http://cognigen.net/broadvox/?mu Anyone know who's behind that? It's not BroadVoice, is it?

Asterisk 1.6 - Problems with SIP/REFER
I am having issues with transfers (SIP/REFER) using Asterisk 1.6. You will find the SIP debug below. There are three phones in this setup. 5253 and 5258 are Aastra 53i telephones, 101 is a standard phone connected through an Audiocodes gateway. All phones are registered in context "phones" and are set to not allow reinvites. All phones can dial each other directly. The dialplan

Best Asterisk Platform
What is the best asterisk platform to use? What are you guys using? I am looking for something to host either in our data center or at the customer prem where I have the control over the unit and not through a contractor. I dont mind paying a license fee for a front end interface but still would rather not have to pay. Thanks, --Eric -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

SIP Options
Hi All, I have been reading through the list quite a bit, and I am going to post this more as a poll than anything else. I am working on setting up a very small business with something that resembles a professional voice system. My idea is to use Asterisk with a SIP provider and SIP clients. I currently have a Vonage account already. So adding the 9.99 a month Soft Phone would be easy.

faxing
What are your experiences with faxing through Asterisk to the PSTN? We are using g.711u as a codec, and are originating/terminating with Broadvox as well as through our own PSTN gateways. We have had some luck with incoming faxes coming into our network from Broadvox DIDs. They work 50% of the time. Not sure yet on PSTN incoming since nobody that is using FAX is in our local rate centers.

BroadVOX
Guys, For what it's worth, after months of trying to troubleshoot issues with them, and after paying them around $2500 for setup and a down payment (it's unclear what of that will be refunded, if any) BroadVox -- http://www.broadvox.net/ -- decided to terminate our contract without any valid reason, and the only explanation they could cite was "it's because of the software

Looking for wisdom - One Asterisk system - Multi-incoming trunks
I'm pretty new to this whole Asterisk system & VoIP thing, but being a programmer by trade the complexity didn't scare me off (at least not yet)... I have setup an Asterisk system for my home & home office. My wife & I run two separate businesses from home, and we have a general family home phone line as well. The cost of all these lines with analog carriers was getting

SIP codec negotiation / manipulation
We're having an odd issue with codec negotiation from one of our SIP providers. Here's the basic situation. We receive an invite from them advertising support for G711, G729, and G723. In our response, we send back that we support G711 and G729. In about half the cases, this results in no problems, with audio being encoded with G711. The other half of the time, they send us a second

Managing the spiralling costs
I have been using the inbound 800 services from vitelity. Slowly the usage has been rising and in the month of Jan the bill was for $650. I am currently on a 1.9 cents a minute plan. Am I paying too much ? Some suggestions my team generated to reduce the toll free incoming call bill were: 1. When people call in on the 800 number take the local number they are calling from and then call them back

DIDForSale spam
List users, Did anyone else recently receive spam from DIDForSale with the subject "DIDForSale 2012 achievements"? I suspect that they are using this list to harvest email addresses and think they should be called out on this poor business practice if that is the case. VoicePulse Connect
Asterisk Users, Has anybody use Voicepulse Connect for Asterisk? I am trying to cover all my bases because in the past, I got burned with poor quality of service, along with failed DTMF tones with 3 different SIP Providers (Vitelity, Broadvoice, and Teliax). I am running Asterisk 1.2.13 on the Debian Etch system, using the SIP protocol. Any insights would be great. Thanks. -John

Skype + Asterisk
Has anybody ever integrated Skype with Asterisk? If you have, which software would you recommend to accomplish such a task? ChanSkype? And how reliable are the calls? Did the DTMF tones work? Broadvoice problems
Is anyone else having problems with them? Until today everything was working fine. But now dtmf is not working on incoming calls. Any ideas? I tried calling them and their voicemail is not accepting answers. Is there another source for DIDs in the 314 or 636 area codes? Especially a company that supports something besides ulaw. I am going to hate switching numbers again, my wife is

Hey there, I don't know who else has suffered broadvoices terrible service, but I am about to my end with them. Who's happy with their voip service?
I started out happy as a clam with my new Broadvoice account and asterisk machine. About 10 days ago things began to change. Inbound calling has been down for 2 days. Beyond the "We are currently experiencing in-bound call issues with a carrier partner in some areas. We are aware of the issue and our engineers are working to have it resolved as soon as possible" mantra their
