Audio pass through
I'm running a RHEL6 as a development desktop with Fedora 14 (multimedia stuff) and Win XP (corporate email and calendars) running on it as KVM VMs. Everything runs great except for audio pass through. Audio works on the RHEL host. Both VMs see sound cards provided by the VM, but no sound is forthcoming. I have tried adding a PCI audio device from the physical host to the Fedora VM, but then

ps/2 mouse cannot be removed from guest
Hi, I installed Solaris 11(x86_64) as a guest in Fedora 19 KVM host and it works well. It seems that Solaris 11 can recognize only USB mouse but cannot recognize PS/2 mouse. When a PS/2 mouse is attached to the solaris 11 guest, something conflict occured and the mouse pointer is not moving on the solaris desktop. So, I tried to remove the PS/2 mouse from the guest, but I cannot remove it using

LLJIT vs. thread-local storage (again)
Hi JITters, I have some JIT-compiled C++ code that uses symbols from a DSO which uses C++14's thread support library. When I compile it I get the following error message: Symbols not found: [ __emutls_v._ZSt15__once_callable, __emutls_v._ZSt11__once_call ] Those seem to correspond to std::__once_callable and std::__once_call, which are indeed present in the C++ standard library. And I

LLJIT vs. thread-local storage (again)
Hmm, I'm confused. The DSO is compiled with gcc. Do I need to compile it with clang instead? I don't believe the JITted code uses the thread support library directly, although I suppose it may be hidden with templates and/or inline functions... kerberos ticket on login problem
I'm experimenting with smb + winbind. My host is joined to AD and I can login to my host fine using my AD credentials via SSH.?? The only issue is that I don't get a Kerberos ticket generated. In /etc/security/pam_winbind.conf I have: krb5_auth = yes krb5_ccache_type = KEYRING In /etc/krb5.conf, I also have: default_ccache_name = KEYRING:persistent:%{uid} Using wbinfo -K jas, then

running window's 95 games in wine
Hello List, I am new to Linux, and new to Wine therefore. I was wondering if anyone could help me run the game Titanic an Adventure out of time, (a window's 95 and NT game) in wine. I've been to the wine site, and I am not sure what do even do first thing. Any help would be appreciated! Julie -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Xrdp
The VNC server just listens to the appropriate TCP/IP port and then runs Xvnc which does the actual VNC communication. Ideally I'd be able to do the same thing for RDP then the daemon doesn't get any more complicated, and a bug in the RDP layer can't crash the server. I don't know enough about how NX works but I suspect we could do the same thing as for VNC and RDP. I'm

centos6.0 unable to install guests w/ kickstart via virt-install
How does one use virt-install and kickstart ? I've seen others have success but I've had no joy thus far. BTW, my interactive virt-installs for centos6 guests work just fine AND I can do unattended kickstarts for vms by booting from centos6 install dvd and typing the kickstart commands from the boot: prompt. However, kickstart commands in --extra-args when used w/ virt-install just

XRDB not in our centos6.8 build
I am a bit baffled on this. We recently rebuilt all our servers to CentOS release 6.8 (Final) from a prior 6.x centos release. We ran into a couple of problems such as Java not working (just had to yum install java). It was installed, but unable to create a java machine, until I yum install java solved the problem. But now a user (the big boss) is receiving xrdp errors. And it appears

sssd problems after dc1 is no longer online
Hi all, I hope that this request for help will be the last one, for a while to come. Today, sernet support helped my sort out our DC mess, and they did a great job. However, sssd no longer works, and I hope someone here can help out. We used to have DC1, DC2 and DC3. DC1 was the classic-upgraded, first, 'original' DC, and had to be shutdown, unfortunately. So only DC2 and DC3

XRDP idle disconnect

What I am looking for is something similar like Microsoft RDP services that supports copy and paste between client and server, sound, clipboard, etc ... I have seen a possible solution using xrdp:

Projects
I am teaching a graduate course on Statistical Computing this semester. A major part of the grade is determined by a project in which a student or small group of students produce, test, and document some software for statistics. I will encourage those students who are developing in S to package their software as an R package. I would welcome suggestions of possible projects, especially projects
